In June of 1969 I flew from Seattle to the tiny Alaskan village of Metlakatla. I came from the Gulf Coast of Mexico , so this was all new to me. Then, we boarded a Sea plane from Metlakatla headed for Ketchican. I ended up staying there for three years, because it was Heaven on earth to me. We worked up to Juneau and back the other way to the border. I know it had to be rough for you, June. I saw the poverty. You and yours take care and you raised a great Daughter.

That’s so wonderful. I knew Randy from my days with NOAA. in fact in 2009, he and I were free diving while the other scientists were surveying the bottom fish, and he gave me the encouragement to go past what I thought were my limits. I’m very glad your family has come together and please tell Randy I said hello.
