Three killed and hundreds injured in New Caledonia riots

Drone footage shot on Tuesday (May 14) and Wednesday (May 15) over the New Caledonia capital of Noumea showed fires and billowing smoke around the city as rioters burned cars and dozens of businesses.
Protesters clashed with police against plans to allow more people to take part in local elections in the French-ruled territory, which indigenous Kanak protesters reject.

Under the changes, French citizens living in the country for 25 years could not vote.
