Had Liu Bei not destroyed Shu's advantage in conquering whole of China with his meaningless campaign for revenge against Wu, ZL would not have wasted his years of his life on the difficult northern expeditions. Such tragic life for ZL.

@CelestialBlueSky yea,, take jing from liu biao.. clear the lady cai faction, form a solid alliance with WU, conquer riverland.. atk hanzhong, at that time, wu didnt have any cause to atk jing.. after become the emperor LiuBei will make sun quan prince.. and finally, liu bei wake up from his dream..

@CelestialBlueSky Liu Bei had a solid reason on why not to take Jing whereas another solid one on why he took Sichuan and Shu region. Liu Biao had a competent son, Liu Qi and Liu Bei knew that Jing would soon be given to Liu Qi and Liu Biao did hint that Jing would be given to him. However, Liu Bei din't expect Cai Mao to be a treacherous snake to poison the mind of his own sister by just defecting to Wei together with the whole state which caused Liu Qi to panic and sent Liu Bei in a frenzy. If Liu Bei was to just take Jing as you said so easily, it would be an even bigger chaos as he wasn't the rightful owner and no will was written legally to give Jing to Liu Bei unlike how Tao Qian gave Liu Bei legitimacy to claim Xu as his own before his own death and was backed by both the Mi and Chen clan within Xu. If like you said that if Liu Bei was to just seize Jingzhou, both Cai and Huang clan within Jingzhou would start to revolt and eliminate Liu Bei's meagre forces and Liu Qi would definitely be executed as Cai Mao again is a treacherous snake.

Actually Wei Yan wasn't quite that bad as he is predicted in the show, the show has a heavy SHU bias and mostly Zhuge Liang bias. Thus painting Wei Yan in a bad light. Actually I read that Wei Yan was the person who invented the Empty fort strategy and not Zhuge Liang

@@MaximusDerpynes Naw Wei Yan had bad vibes. Wei Yan is a good general but too ambitious for his own greatness. He actually got damn salty when Zhuge Liang died and when he passed his marshallship to Jiang Wei, a defected Wei general but a damn competent one at that, Wei Yan got damn salty and started blabbering around on how the other generals are useless and not following what Zhuge Liang wants and even went ahead and was even documented and reported to have caused a coup surrounding himself pitting heads against Jiang Wei. This caused a huge problem within the camps in Hanzhong that Ma Dai had to come out, capture Wei Yan and executed him for his treachery against not only the grand marshal but also the state and the now-dead Zhuge Liang's wishes.

Yeah sadly there are characters that was made up. Don't know why it was so. Zhou Cang was one of them :(

@WAN AHMAD RAQIB BIN WAN ABDILLAH - according to the actual history, zhou cang was not a real person. Liao Hua is a real person though
