A handy tip --- anothe way of dissolving the sugar crystals on the side of the pot is to put the lid of the pot for a moment and allow the steam to condense on the lid and trickle down the sides. Works every time for me. Hope someone finds this useful.

Here’s a different idea for greasing your Bundt pan. Grease it with spray or solid put about 1/3 cup sugar in the pan and roll it around to coat the inside of your pan and then put your cake batter in it. It’s so nice to have your cake covered with sugar instead of flour. I’ve used this idea for years and it’s always worked for me. ❤

I can't wait to see more, you're so inspiring and make me really want to get into the kitchen and try so many different things. I figure I'll either win or learn. My daughter and I who get very motion sick keep the ginger chews and they are so, so helpful for that and she likes them if she has a bad headache.

These look soooo good! A trick for caramel: put a little water with your sugar (that helps dissolve the sugar) and a little glucose or corn syrup (to prevent crystallization of the sugar) then stir a bit. Now put your pan on the heat and, most important: NEVER-EVER stir. Let the sugar-water bubble and swirl you pan once in a while but NEVER use a spatula or a whisk. Once you have the desired colour (lighter = sweeter, darker = more bitter), add you cream (with a spatula or a whisk). Fool proof and stress free!
@anniokie60Ай бұрын
Becky, I learned this trick on how to get baked goods out of a Bundt pan…every time. I learned it from Erin Andrews, the sportscaster, when she did a cooking demonstration on the Hallmark Morning variety show several years ago. That show is long gone. First, barely melt some butter. You want to heat it just enough that it melts. Then take a pastry brush (not one with plastic bristles, but real bristles). Paint your Bundt pan very carefully with butter. Go in every nook and cranny of your pan until it’s completely covered. Your pan is usually pretty cold and the butter solidifies which is what you want. Don’t let the butter pool in the bottom of the pan. No drops. A good paint job is necessary. Then shake flour on the pan as usual, but don’t use regular flour. Use Wondra flour. It’s the flour that’s ground up finer than regular flour and on the grocery aisle where the regular flour is, usually on the top shelf in a round blue can shaped like a Pringle’s can. I’ve done this for years (I’m 75). Your cake slides out like a greased pig and works every time. I have some very intricate Bundt pans and people always wonder how I do it.

A one time sift unless recipe calls for more than one sifting .smiles keep up the great work. From a 73 year old mom and gran who lives a wonderful life in spite of MS. Best wishes, Norma

Becky, I have been watching you for years! I enjoy many of your ideas and recipes. I make a lot of bundt cakes and I originally had a lightweight metal pan with a non-stick lining. I was given a heavier pan and I have never gone back to the lighter pan. In my experience, my Nordic Ware (cast aluminum, I think) sprayed with non-stick spray (and sometimes flour or cocoa powder) bakes a more evenly baked cake, and seldom does a cake stick. Keep making great videos!

One way to get bundt cakes out is to lightly spray with olive or avacado oil and sprinkle in some sugar. Roll it around and shake out the remainde. Pat your pan a few times over the sink to get out all excess sugar. It works every time. Great for banana bread or anything similar.
