@@AllHailSAHtan they had no interest in selling out and doing whatever they make sell-out bands do for contracts. Rob Crow is in that vein as well, they are all buddies who used to play shows together in San Diego in the early days. I think these guys are happy playing little shows at clubs for their moderate fan bases. The OC brought Pinback some extra exposure (they used Fortress for an episode,) but I remember reading somewhere that looking back, Rob regretted that as people used to come to their shows in droves and scream "Fortress" all night long because the songs you know the crowd wants to hear, you play last as always, as usual. We saw them on their last tour-proper and there were like...eighty people there (three piece line-up) and Rob was dancing around on the bar and playing with the hanging lights having a great time. I taped the encore for my daughter (she asked me to) and I still have that. Great time without a doubt. They were happy with how the label was treating them and the freedom they got to put out whatever whenever and that's worth way more than money. When you listen to Zack and Rob's various bands, remember that these things are EXACTLY as the writers wanted them. That's kind of cool and well worth their lack of "fan base." I digress....haha!

Better, thanks. The baby's mom has moved on and left our daughter with us, and the guy she moved in that "she fell in love with" during a stint at a mental hospital had a drug overdose a few months ago. Twenty twenty turned out to be the actual Year Of No Light, 2018 was the appetizer. Haha! When I wrote that comment I was about to do something really stupid. SO FUCKING GLAD this "devil music" (literally in this case as pall is "playing the devil") made me realize.
