Terry: 1) Nice Hat! 2) Based on your description of wildlife in your part of the world, I would have to be outfitted ala Sigourney Weaver in Aliens to survive the night. 3) M3gan scares the crap out of me. Hope that she doesn't hook-up with Chucky to produce offspring!

1) Agreed 2) I suspect you & I have very different memories of Ripley's most iconic outfits from the Alien movies. 3) I'm not a huge Horror fan, with a few honourable exceptions (eg Alien, The Thing, Cabin in The Woods, Dog Soldiers, Evil Dead ok maybe more than I thought). That being said, I'm more terrified by creepy little girls than I am by Cthulhu.

All 3 sound great, thanks. I'll especially look out for Carniflex (and why do most of our animals have Latin names? - I do know because they're scientific clade names, but still what did the locals call them all?), says someone born in Korumburra (means lots of flies). Vesper sounds like one to watch out for, too. Good work.

Megan is a hoot and appeals to adults as well as the kiddies. Carnifax I need to see. I was absolutely blown away by Vesper, the cinematography is stunningly beautiful and the post apocalyptic bio-world convincing enough. The plot was a bit incoherent/dark though the film deserved a lot more success. The beauty of the effects, I would rate as highly as 'Annihilation'. Good picks, Terry.

The AI bot reminds me of The Bad Seed (1956). The naughty girl was real and was a murderer. It was so disturbing to the adults, there was a tag at the end, where the principle actor as mother spanks the murderous little girl, her movie daughter, so she got her comeupance.

Loved the reviews this time. You are on point here. I want to like AI movies but they are all so redundant. I watched Carnifex and it is not a gem, on a contrary, one hour into the film and we are following those 3 people who have some strange relation with each other, the animal is not shown no matter that it killed a few times, 2 men, we can see that only in a split of a second that something is grabbing them and blood is all over... There is only one decent presentation of the whole animal, CGI, at the near end of the movie... Very bad, I honestly think I lost time trying to see the "monster" and when I saw it, that was bad CGI and it was not terrifying, just some animal that was a predator and was considered as extinct. Nothing special.

@@terrytalksmovies Yes, and I don't understand why... When I saw the title and short explanation of what that movie is about, I was excited to watch it...But I saw those 3 people, and that ranger or whatever, they go in that wood, go, go, go that is going for 1 hour, and we can see for a fragment of a second that the "monster" is grabbing some animal and later grabbing that poacher, we can't see anything specific, just blood splashes, and they still go, they find that tree and they guy theorists that Carnifex still exists, and no matter that it starts killing, we saw just one good look how that animal looked like, it is a very short scene, the animal is not big as a lion, it is like a weird, almost funny version of leopard, and that is so anticlimactic when you will face the fact that you expected some interesting horror with some incredibly made animal that looks like some monster, let's say something that might look like in that series "Terror", or in "Ritual", or in" No One Gets Alive"... And what we saw? Just some carnivorous marsupial that is looking like a typical big carnivore... Sure, I agree that we all have different tastes, and I know that Romans had that saying that we should not speak about taste, but then again, why not? Why shouldn't we talk about why I think that movie is mediocre at best and you have a different opinion, that it is good movie, a gem? Of course, civilized discussion, with arguments... I have no intention to insult anyone, I am simply saying why that movie was a disappointment for me.
