The emotion the animator managed to get into anduin that really displayed his PTSD is amazing. The wavering sword that goes steady as it touches thrall showing how he needs help. Just top notch.

It was the stance too; I think CLEARLY his stance was to remind us of Arthas; Anduin forced into being a dominated deathknight and broken, versus Arthas the DK that loved his business. To bring doubt to us. Is Anduin broken.. is he so broken he might actually attack Thrall? And then the twist, and the big twist at the end. AMAZING. Anduibn is broken, but he's still in there, and Thrall's trust opens his heart a bit. HELL YEAH. As always, WoW cinematics are top tier.

So either its overly complex nonsense when there's an easy slamdunk they missed (Drachtyr), or really solid like the black and blue flights. And there's no way Metzen came in and decided the whole concept for war within last minute this deep into its production. I'm all for making fun of everything shadowlands, but people like you are just bandwagoning at this point. SL was the edgelord expac, dragonflight was more chill and more classic (open ended plots). Acting like its been the same the whole way is just disingenuous.

Metzen showed it's not just nostalgia. Man made me so excited for retail for the first time in so long just by being real and passionate. We get these games have to make money and corporate is all part of it, but let guys like Metzen make the game decisions, not some suit who played NES a few times when he was a kid. I'm sure they offered him a pretty penny to come back and essentially revitalize the game.

Props to the animation team on Anduin. Uber realistic, reminded me of Stephen Amell on Arrow. Hook us in with the feels and then a three-part saga. About damn time we address the 900 foot tall gorilla in the room! Whew!

I truly wish they still had the voice acting panel. It was one of my favorite things about Blizzcon and I wanted a deep dive on the acting in that cinematic. It's so emotional and raw. I'm sure Andrea Toyias would have had some really amazing insights.

Just, oh my god, so much hype. I feel like that moment in the cinematic that called back to that amazing Shadowlands moment with Varian and Saurfang was so important - it's like a reminder of the things that were good and done well in that expansion, and a refusal to 'apologise' for the hard and wonderful work all of the Blizzard team did throughout that really rough time. Bloody amazing stuff.

I watched this live and, like Tali at the beginning, I was wracked with nerves. I'm so invested in the game, love it so much, and I so so so want the next expansion to be great and the player base to expand not shrink. So there was a lot riding on this announcement. Then we got this incredible 3 expansion reveal! Amazing! That Anduin/Thrall cinematic was so beautiful and delicate, it had me in tears. 100% quality. I think this was a good move from them - rather then making the 20 year anniversary all about looking back at the previous 20 years, they are making it about the NEXT 20 years. Good job dev team! ❤🎉

My biggest concern remains in the descriptions of the second and third expansions... they sound ridiculously like *patches*, not *expansions*. The setting for Midnight is Quel'thalas??? How is that enough for an expansion? And visiting Northrend for a second time doesn't feel grand enough for not just ~an~ expansion, but ~the~ expansion, the probably 25th-anniversary featuring expansion, the conclusion of the story of the third major arc in WoW. Cause let's face it. The Worldsoul Saga did not begin with The War Within. It began with BfA. More accurately, the endgame cinematic of Legion, but Legion itself was the conclusion of the second major arc in WoW, which was defined by the manipulations of the Black Prince (he meddled in *everything* throughout Pandaria, *caused* Warlords of Draenor, which in turn *caused* the Legion to invade; and hints that that was his plan from the beginning were all over Pandaria's legendary quests). And of course the first arc was defined by revisiting and defeating all of the major threats of the RTS era of Warcraft. So yeah. Worldsoul Saga is just half of one story. But it still deserves better than recycled settings for two of its three expansions.

what i love most about you guys is your well adjusted adults. I so appreciate Evitel scoffing at the crowd screaming at Chris Metzen and I am sure she was as appalled by the treatment of Holly Longdale who seems so wonderful. To be honest I really hated how they treated some of the devs. There was so little respect and I think it needs to be made clear to these attendees that they need to be respectful of the people who create the games they love. I am SO excited for this Saga. It took a second to wash over me but I think I am as amped as I have ever been and my initial worry about the underground zones has completely evaporated after seeing the direction they have taken with those zones which look unbelievable. This is better then I hoped for and I am so excited for this trio of expacs and also excited for classic players who seem to be getting cool stuff as well

I stepped away from WoW at the beginning of Cata, came back very sporadically during the isle of thunder patch of MoP and then never logged in again. Having said that... I was definitely touched by the World Soul Saga and War Within reveal. Chris did "campy" just right and really spoke to the kid in me who remembers being a big kid at 20 years old and stumbling down the rabbit hole during the last patch of OG Burning Crusade. I'm fortunate enough to make a stable living and children haven't come yet. I may just see what dreams may come and what chance meetings await me in Azeroth once more.

Honestly, it's about time the void stuff finally ramped up. We've already taken down the Scourge and the Legion, there's just one more big primal evil that's been around since vanilla. Possibly WC3 if the the Forgotten One really has a tie to the Old Gods.

During the What's Next panel...anyone else feel like we got a subtle tease that N'zoth is coming back? When they're talking about Xal'atath they say the black empire has fallen (yeah, long ago), old gods are dead (are they though? Still at least one out there), harbinger has watched, a new darkness rises (5th old god?) "One that knows our strength..." some reason that just instantly made me think of N'zoth (the knowing presence). He tested us back in BFA, why? Then we got some interesting lines from him during DF. I pulled those up again and he's basically telling us what the expansion will be . Knowing Presence whispers: I... know you. What you were. What you will yet be. You will follow him to the deep places. The dark waters will flow in his wake. Who we following? Anduin? Iridikron? Magni? Yeah, we're heading to some deep places. Knowing Presence whispers: With many eyes, they will see again. They will drink, and be uplifted. Deeper, deeper its roots will reach. Welcoming our embrace. Her dreams sing beneath the surface. Our dreams. Our song. Nerubians...they'll drink of the old god blood (dark waters?) and be evolved. We see screenshots of what look like roots, might also be part of the new tree, or the original. Then the cinematic references the singing dreams. Midnight expansion...papa N'zoth comes back? He had well over 10,000+ years to plan things since we messed with time. Do we really think he is dead? Speculating is fun.

I feel like we’re building toward Azeroth existing on one seamless engine, what with us going back to Quel’Thalas and Northrend soon, and which the introduction of Dynamic Flying on a larger scale, and being able to enter zones without loading screens. Will we one day be able to fly from Moonglade to the Borean Tundra? Or Quel’Danas to the Howling Fjord? Maybe from Stormwind to Kul Tiras? That would be amazing.

I agree with Evi, where it feels like the end. Now I don't think this means the end of WoW as a whole, I think it just means a bridge into what is next. AKA some sort of WoW 2. That is just my gut feeling, but I've been wrong before lol!

13:51 I think that patience willing, that's what a lot of people have wanted from warcraft. Much more focused expansions that go deeper into the conflicts that wouldn't be able to be told over a single patch cycle.

to me having a bigger story to look to is building hype instead of crushing it tbh, i know there's more and i look forward to it. It's probably something that lacked in dragonflight launch, I didn't know what to expect so I wasn't expecting anything 😅 and honestly now I don't even remember the story so i need to watch some recap or replay everything with an alt, hoping to enter in the dungeons and raids to see the important story bits locked in there

Was a kid when i started on Warcraft 1: Orcs vs Humans and it was HARD, that being said...almost 20 years later it has been a TON of fun and ive had some really good memories in Azeroth =D ...also as a side note, im really happy to hear that Micheal Scotts Threat Level Midnight (The Office) is gonna make it into the Blizzard storyline, Dwight is gonna make a great Shadow Edgelord

Anduin not a proper blonde confirmed Pretty brave move to continue the BfA storyline as that was not one of their more beloved ones. And if you dislike the worldsaga idea you have to wait until 4 expansions roughly 8 years until they do something else. The title war within along their new underground zone cave tech doesnt make me squeee with joy but as always its to early to get excited

I can't wait for Last Titan to introduce the Frostborn Dwarf allied race for Alliance. Earthen makes sense for both sides because they were always netrual but Frostborn Dwarves sided with the alliance. Maybe we'll finally get Council of Four Hammers. I guess Midnight would give us the Wildhammer Allied r- pfffftttt hahahaha just kidding, they already made it clear that wouldn't happen because of the customization options for Ironforge Dwavres. Just like how we're not getting High Elves in Midnight because of the Void Elf and Blood Elf customization options and the Blood Elves and Void Elves _are_ the High Elves anyway. There were Blood Elves who called themselves High Elves but they were still Blood Elves physically.

When Chris said it's to play out over multiple expansions (3). My first thought was, oh so you're going the FF XIV route where the story is told over the course of expansion after expansion instead of wrapping up each story in 1 expansion, this will be interesting. Let's see how it plays out now.

Everything they have said in the deep dives has been really great imho... ... Tbh, instead of a new race or new class or something else "the usual", I would _much_ rather them give us the stuff they are giving us -- stuff that helps the game in the long run by giving players incentives to adventure, to play alts, to get immersed in the story We are getting: (1) an overarching narrative, (2) endgame content in the open world (which is also great for solo, for two players if you just wanna play with a buddy... with a progression system, gear, and a custom mount), (3) xmogs and rep that is either shared/account-wide/easier to gain for alts through warbands, (4) a classic warcraft fantasy, with elves, dwarves, and nerub instead of some gimmick like "an Asia expansion!" a "pirate expansion!" To me, this stuff improves WoW going forward. That is good. If you get a new race/new class... it's exciting when it comes out but it really is just the usual same-old and the game doesn't really get any better. It just gets harder to balance with more classes and you get yet another race on the character creator screen... I would rather stuff like warbands, delves. A narrative that is overarching (compared to the isolated experiences shadowlands _and especially Dragonflight_ have been with no connection to the storied world. Expacs in a bubble.) Anyway, I've been playing since 2005. I know everyone says stuff like that, but actually. And certain things have deteriorated over time, like the outdoor content being so trivial that it is now completely unrewarding and I just sit in Valdrakken waiting for a group instead of going out and 1v20 mobs with 0 chance of dying and dogass rewards for doing it... stuff like Delves shows they recognize problems like this and are actually going to give an incentive to go adventure again.

It could probably mean the end of WoW 1 after the Soul Saga 3 expansion plan and the beginning of WoW 2 on a fresh new lands perhaps. Keep in perspective the game is already 100gig! How much more zones can you build on a 20 year old game. Introducing WoW 2 on another planet will be perfect.
