Three Nite P 30 Build Video Part 8 Dethermalizer

In this video I describe and illustrate how to construct and operate a dethermalizer (DT) for my Three Nite P-30 model airplane. This is a free flight rubber powered model. Using a viscous timer and a mousetrap trigger mechanism, the horizontal stabilizer pivots to a forty-five degree angle after 120 seconds. This causes the model to gently descend in a horizontal orientation. If the model is caught in an updraft of warm air (thermal) when the DT triggers most of the time the model airplane will come down and not be lost out of sight.
