Here's some trivia. Notice how 12th and 19th stations have different lighting? 12th used to have lighting similar to 19th, but they replaced the lights at 12th a few years ago. 19th will have new lights soon as well as part of a renovation that they are doing to that station.

These trains sound just like the R143. No cap🧢

Funny how we compare this to NYC when the BART is obviously doing way better. Look, they even have a great warning system. Look for a remix of the "death horn" soon.

I know, right? Just because we like our own system doesn't mean it's the best! Btw, are you back in NY?

Yes, for a week now.

Desmos - Trains & More but nyc's subway is ranked 3rd in the world
@DarPower17 жыл бұрын
BART trains are longer and faster, but they don't go as many places as the NYC subway, so NY subway is still better than BART in terms of utility. However BART goes far out and pretty fast, which would be nice if the NYC subway could do that.

Why were there so many a stock trains on the Pittsburg line i never see them on that line
@T_K_O_7 жыл бұрын
10 car trains on the Pittsburg/Bay Point are very common due to the length of the line, so you'll see most of the A stocks on that line.

Has anyone ever seen an A car and a C car coupled together. That would be interesting to see

Ive seen Pleanty, It was very popular to put C cars Directly Behind A cars in the 1990's

Hold up at 45:26 there was a richmond train using the middle tracks? That seems odd

Why do they run different lengths? Do different stations have different platform lengths?
@SomeTrainEnthusiast7 жыл бұрын
Nope, all stations are long enough for 10 cars. The reason is because the cars in service are the ones that were made at the very beginning of the BART, and at the time, it wasn't as expansive. As the system got bigger, more trains were required, but the amount of cars stayed the same (save for the flat ended driver cars (C cars) that were built around 19 years after the first cars). So as more trains were required, for expansion and for increasing ridership, they had to make the more used lines have longer trains, and the less used lines have shorter trains. Right now, there are new cars being tested, and they're supposed to fill the lack of cars.

Well, there is the oakland shuttle to Oakland airport. That's always the same.
@SomeTrainEnthusiast7 жыл бұрын
Well the shuttle is totally different from the 5 main lines. There is no contact.
@basictransportenthusiast43867 жыл бұрын
QuarioQuario54321 it depends on the time of day, during rush hour they run 8-10 car trains but in between the rush hours they run trains that are 4-5 and 7 cars in length. It also depends on the Line like the Richmond-Fremont line they run 6 cars on weekdays and 3 Cars(which is so weird to see) on weekends
@echopstick25537 жыл бұрын
Miles Campbell they don't run three car trains on that line anymore. Haven't since September 2015. The shortest any train gets now is four cars
