The second foot is not a rolled hem foot, it is a bias binder. In the example given I feel like it is completely unnecessary to have a special foot, you can do that with a normal foot very easily. Actually I think using a rolled hem foot is more trouble than help.

I am an experienced sewer, and have never been able to use those feet properly. Never get a clean seam.

It takes skill and patience. Start out by having your threads over 6 inches long at the top - connected to your fabric. Then use those threads to thread through the rolled hem foot. Hang on to the threads, and adjust the fabric around the rolled hem to begin. Slowly start off and use the threads you'll hold on to to easily pull the fabric through the foot.

Здравствуйте. Думаю, что в разных случаях и на разных тканях нужна разная подгибка. Для более толстых и плотных тканей нужна более широкая подгибка. Для более тонких и деликатных тканей нужна более узкая подгибка. Кроме того, здесь показано использование подгибочной лапки для запошивочного шва. Для него нужна лапка поуже. А для подгибки низа платья нужна лапка пошире. Поэтому лучше иметь подгибочные лапки разной ширины для разных нужд. Ровных вам строчек ;)))

Вот мне тоже интересно. Я профессиональный портной, 40 лет стажа и никогда не пользуюсь этой лапкой лишь от того, что начало не красивое. И что только не пробовала! Лучше загладить и проложить строчку.
