Steelers Fan since '79 - I agree with his guarded optimism. But the saying in the NFL is "defense wins championships" - the Steelers have the best defense in, at least the AFC 'chip. If the Steelers can keep the game within a certain game script, they can beat the Bills, Chiefs, and Ravens. All their D is sus, right now.

I respectfully disagree with the assessment, though I’ll acknowledge the argument that the Steelers have a legitimate shot at winning their division-largely due to their formidable defense. However, as the Eagles recently demonstrated, even a strong defense can be exploited. The Steelers’ overly aggressive defensive approach, combined with a tendency to rely on zone coverage, left them vulnerable to underneath plays. Philly’s offensive line also deserves credit for holding up long enough to give Jalen Hurts the time he needed to exploit those weaknesses. In the second half, Hurts capitalized on gaps in the Steelers’ pass rush, which lacked lane integrity-a critical flaw in their otherwise aggressive scheme. Additionally, there are other top-tier defensive teams, like the Eagles, that can stifle the Steelers’ offense. If opponents can hold them to around 14 points (well below their 24-point average), Pittsburgh is unlikely to win. They simply don’t have the firepower to keep up in a shootout. While the Steelers are a solid team, their vulnerabilities could prove costly against well-rounded opponents.

Steelers have a slight chance of winning all, and that slight chance is dependent on Pickens remaining healthy for remainder of the season. They’re a bit short handed at receiver..that’s my only concern with them winning the chip.

I’d like to see them get Russ going early in games by getting off script. Hurry up out of the gate. Defenses tend to go into bend but don’t break mode when the other team goes into the hurry up and it would prevent the Steelers from overthinking things which they often do on first and second downs early in games.

This is a good concept for a show. Enjoyed it. Gotta say the likelihood the Steelers reach the Superbowl is less than 1% imo. I said it from the beginning of the season that a successful season this year would be winning a playoff game. Anything more than that is gravy. It would be a colossal failure if they can't win a playoff game this year even with injuries and especially if they somehow win the division and get a home game. I do not believe they will win the division. I think the Ravens finally beat the Steelers this Saturday. I hope I am wrong but they can only lose so many games.

I don't find it bad now that Russ is the QB and they are 10th in scoring. When it was all defense, yeah, I was a fan but not the most exciting of games to me.
