It’s amazing how little you spend and using things from your pantry.

Thank you so much! It has been quite challenging as I would love to buy a little more fresh produce, but we have canned and frozen veggies and fruit to supplement!

Glad I found this channel. You keep it real, love the fridge pic. We are trying for $50 a month. We don't go every week, that's why its per month. We have $8.43 left. We are going shopping tomorrow, but won't be back out to the town we shop at for awhile, so I will begin to use next month $50, if they makes sense.😁

Hi Stacy! Thank you so much for stopping by! I definitely keep it real here. I love this budget you have set for yourself! Yes, that makes total sense for your budget! You need to shop when you can! I often do this since I live in a really small town. If I go out of town I will hit up the sales at other stores. I usually have $200 a month in my prepper pantry budget for this type of shopping!

You are doing well. Third week of the pantry challenge, this is what I have purchased so far.... 3 gallons of milk 1 quart of whole cream. I am doing well, I am running out of cheese.😁

I applaude you. After I was FINALLY able to finish my inventory of my 2 large freezers, I realized I had pretty much NO meat and went ahead and bought some so, I explained the my 2 oldest daughters that we will be doing our pantry challenge through March. They are not thrilled but momma's gotta do what momma's gotta do and we will make do.
@SnowGardener Жыл бұрын
Way to go on getting that inventory done! I haven't done an inventory but I am pretty good at keeping track of what we have. Love that you will be going through March! I am going to take 1 month at a time now. I planned on doing 6 weeks when I started... now I bumped it to 10 weeks. who knows what I will decide towards the end of February!

You’re amazing at this challenge! You have a lot of milk you can make your own ricotta cheese..also have you ever made no knead bread if you haven’t your really missing out in my opinion,,you can use in place of French bread, use for garlic bread, French toast, bread pudding ..
@thevictoriagoogin Жыл бұрын
I agree!!! I prefer no knead/Dutch oven bread to some others esp when you want a good crispy bread but if I need soft than I'll grab a French.
@SnowGardener Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I can't imagine finding the time to make ricotta! LOL...Yes, I make the Dutch oven bread quite often. It is so easy and yummy!! I just made homemade French bread for the first time this week, it turned out so good and it was so easy!!

I started Dec 1st but spent 2 weeks at the in-laws for Christmas so we’re at about the same place. I had a gift card that’s 6 month old so I spent $22 one day and $9.50 another day. I’m proud of both of us!

Haha! Thank you Tracy! The Mexican rice is actually just a rice we buy from Sam's Club! www.samsclub.com/p/parexcellence-yellow-rice/prod4290020 It is 3.5lbs for less than $6. We get many meals out of it and we really enjoy it.

New subscriber. I subscribed because of rule #6. I think not spending when it makes sense to is unrealistic. I freeze cottage cheese, but I'm a rebel freezer! !

Welcome! Thank you so much! Yes...you have to give yourself grace and spend when you need to. Hahaha...I love it! When I get a chance I am definitely going to grab a couple extra cottage cheese and toss them in the freezer!!

You have certainly made this challenge look easy. Are you giving yourself grace bc of time constraints for bread or bc you think its gonna be difficult? If its the latter there are some great easy recipes out there.
@SnowGardener Жыл бұрын
Hi Victoria. It is the time to do it. I am branching out and making French bread this week and homemade tortillas. But I can only handle so many new recipes and techniques a week. LOL It is on the list to start making too! Just not there yet!

OK, i had to stop when you said your friend grinds down the bones for dog food. What!! I have 3 large dogs and never thought of this. How does she grind it down? Must be an actual meat grinder ? What can you tell me about this.
@SnowGardener11 ай бұрын
Hi Kim! Yes, she throws it all into a big meat grinder. I don't know the details but I have heard her talk about processing road kill game for her dogs as well. She has a lot of dogs and this saves her a ton of money.
