I'm not sure if these comments are being read anymore, but this is insanely good video. I've never hit a driver like I did today. I hit a 450 yard par 4 with driver 6 iron. Literally the week before I was ten yards short with driver 4 iron. I'm going to join Mr. Cogorno's site. This video and the twist release videos snapped so many pieces of the swing into place. Don't sway off the ball, tilt forward then back, weight left and make sure to twist the shaft closed to take away the right side of the course = an 80 at an insanely tough track with two buddies who played college golf. Thank you. This is the first youtube comment I've ever written.

I’m guilty of watching TONS of golf instructional videos. This is one of the first that has been an immediate game changer for me. I left the course early yesterday because I skied and scarred my brand new driver twice and then proceed to snap hook it the next couple of holes. I was mad and being a loser. Showed up today with these tips and instant gratification. Thanks man, keep killing it! I wish you much more success and a Merry Christmas!

Another suggestion, don't use a ball. Use a tee or something or an "intermediate" point to swing towards. It's no fun shanking a ball, it just deters you. However, it's up to you ultimately. I'm just a guy, that learned from another guy, suggesting shortcuts to another guy.
@Dubinski2382

I think Saguto's tilt is different. He says you tilt at the start of the take back. In other words you don't turn your shoulders you tilt into the ball which brings your back shoulder back and up naturally. I think combining Saguto with this would work.

I bought the Stack 'n' Tilt DVDs years ago and tried the system, and it seemed to work with irons, but I had trouble with the driver. Also, because I've had surgery on my left (leading) knee, I had a VERY hard time with the Stack 'n' Tilt's system of having you start with slightly more weight on your lead leg, and INCREASING the weight onto your lead leg in the down swing, not shifting your weight onto the trail leg as is commonly taught. Felt sharp pain and felt like my lead knee was going to collapse in the back swing, so I gave it up.

The best thing for me to execute a decent drive is establish 3 things at address: tee height, ball placement in my stance, the stance itself. My most optimal position requires that I have a rotation-generated back swing and initiate the down swing with my core and move towards the target in order to make contact with the ball. I also hit my first 300 yard drive in 15 years and my last round birdied 4 out of my last 7 holes with a lip out or it would have been 5. What is shown here is that there is a moment where weight is transferred onto the right foot. I have been trying to do a stack and tilt driver swing without ever transferring the weight like this, and I find that I am struggling to maintain my balance, and it feels awkward. Is it true that moving weight to the back foot momentarily is recommended?

So does stack and tilt have your tilt forward for irons and back for the driver? Weight forward for hitting down on the ball with shorter clubs and tilted back for hitting up with your driver? Its really two different set ups?

Interested in you teaching offering. What is needed to get instruction from you?? Are you able to get days from the ball from a video like you can with a Trakman?? Had 3 cervical neck fusions over the last 11 yrs and just got back to playing again. Having a hard time hitting my irons as I can hit "down" any longer. Rarely take a divot, but hitting the driver fairly good distance and super straight. Previously a + handicap golfer and played collegiate golf.... Let me know what your able to do with your instruction.

They should have just called this Tilt, nobody would argue with that and every good golfer tilts regardless of weight transfer. It's just easier for us non tour pros to make sure our hips and weight are correct with stack n tilt.

In a Golf Magazine 3 part series of articles of a long time ago, they kind of said about the same thing but in a different way. But they called it more like getting into an athletic position. They showed where many tour players actually set up this way tilted back before the swing starts and they showed pictures of that. Most importantly they called the bad thing, "left side crunch". They pointed out that when the head is not back, everything "crunches up" on the left side thus robbing power. It is not cleared and crunches up against a steady head in the wrong position (forward). They actually used a body harness with sensors hooked up to a computer to capture the analysis they presented. I think 200 touring pros were analyzed against 400 amateur's on that thing. Then they made artist created drawings of the correct and incorrect positions.. I spent many hours replicating it, and it was all true. It really revived my sagging golf game. Frankly, I was doing everything wrong and I was a fairly accomplished player. It also helps you to hit the ball much straighter. They also stressed the "levelness" (turning level around one's spin only" as a key ingredient.

I love the straight arms idea, but I would add that they should BE STRAIGHTENED by the proper physics of gravity and by a natural pendulum motion, and not by the arms clenching to straighten things out. The clenching will kill everything. Natural motion will allow not only for length and arc, but also for the arms/wrists/club all to turn over naturally.

Implementing stack and tilt into my swing has been the only thing that’s given me consistent contact. My body doesn’t move like it used to and getting my tempo, timing and weight shift consistently right has been frustrating. But keeping that weight planted on the lead foot has helped tremendously

@Dubinski2382 2 жыл бұрын
I thought the tilt was during the take back. You tilt your front shoulder down towards the ball as you bring the club back so that your head is over the ball. That's the stack. If you don't tilt your torso down your head moves slightly behind the ball as you go back.
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 2 жыл бұрын
Yes Left shoulder down in backswing Right shoulder down in downswing Thats the "tilt" part the "stack" is keeping the sternum on top of center of pelvis in the backswing (that includes the extension and turn parts)

Stack n tilt doesn’t let you hit up with the driver that’s where the problem is. Sure lots of pros hit slightly down on it. But they want that to hit a fade , pretty hard to hit down and have a nice high long draw

Stack and Tilt was one pattern O’Grady and MORAD taught for short irons only. Was never supposed to be used for long irons or driver. If you can make it work great, but Baddeley failed miserably at the US Open using it

How does the weight go forward when your head is moving over your right foot. Have you worked with the weight plates? Obvious answer is no. Are you aware that Stack n crack was originally teaching spine leaning left? What if I Tilt my spine right, while also moving my hips and pelvis RIGHT like Rose or Stenson at set up? Will my weight move left or right? Hint, the weight moves right which is what ALL good players are doing at setup and early into the takeaway...I only got 15 seconds in.
