I'm 20 seconds in and I had to stop. THAT T-SHIRT. I must have it! Your game changers - I've had my eye on that variegated thread for awhile now. I love the look of it! I agree so much about the stick-on light, I have the light strips right now and you're right - the stickiness just wears off with the movement of the machine. I do have some command strips, so I might try those (thanks for the tip on that!). You cracked me up with that last drawer. "Some spray adhesive and dust." I store all my dust under my table, out of sight. 😂😂😂 Your drawers actually don't look that bad to me - you should see my little drawer-tower-rolley-thingy which has needed to be organized for literally years! I think I could watch organizing videos for years on end and just skip doing the drawer thingy. I love your desk organizer trays with the removable parts - talk about an upgrade from an inbox! Now I need to schedule time in October to organize and put in another order to Wawak! Thanks for the motivation - ❤️😘🤗

I always enjoy a little sewing organisation. Total nerd in that way. The only reason that any of my crafting areas aren't a mess is because I've organized that mess before. My mom was a seamstress and quilter 💖 she passed away 2 years ago and everything was put in storage. I'm going through her sewing stuff and trying to set up a sewing room for me so I can start sewing my own clothes. I've got boxes upon boxes of stuff I'm trying to organize 🙈 it's a good thing I'm retired 😂 glad you showed those lights 👍 I had them in the donate box now I'll stick them on the sewing machine and serger.

I have a few colors of the variegated thread. Love it. I have a couple messy drawers, too. I just bought an organizer for my sewing machine feet and packs of needles. It will hang in the closet in my sewing room. I got the idea from someone on Facebook. I'm planning to do that today.

Thank you so much, Michelle! I have been using the pins the last few days, and they are FAB! Highly recommend! The scissors were $9.97 at my Walmart. I love the crisp, accurate notch I get using them! I can even make teeny notches with them when I’m using a smaller seam allowance than what the pattern calls for! I just love them! I’m in the process of getting re-organized! I have a couple more areas that need it, also! Have a great trip this weekend! You will be the best-dressed person there! 🤩💜

I’m not 100% sure but I think your notch cutter is for cutting notches in the actual pattern? So for pattern makers I guess which is why it probably doesn’t cut fabric so well. The variegated serger thread idea is GENIUS! And I need that led light. Thanks for the tip on attaching it. OMG I don’t have a drawer that looks like that but I have an entire room that does! Can’t wait to see what it looks like when you’re finished organizing it.
@AndraMakes3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, Gini! I’m pretty sure it was marketed for fabric. But, that was several years ago, and I was new to sewing and had no idea what I was doing. (Still don’t, most of the time 😂). So, you could be right. It cuts the fabric except for one little sliver. I thought there might be a nick in the blade or something. Anywho…….let me know if you try any of these gadgets. I have several areas in my sewing room that I’d like to re-organize. 💜

So happy to have found your channel. Simply Delilah sent me over to see the variegated thread. Love it. I also purchased a notch cutter tool…. It never worked.l. Then I found out…they’re meant to cut notches in pattern paper. So if you draft patterns… it will cut those notches just fine… they’re not made for fabric. I was so disappointed. 😊
@AndraMakes3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! That variegated serger thread is wonderful! Let me know if you try it! I had no idea that notch cutter was for paper! 😂🤦🏻♀️ It cut the fabric great, except for one little sliver! Maybe we can invent one for fabric! 💜

Can't wait to see the dress ❤ great order and game changers. I have a magnetic seam guide. It works good with my computerized machine, because the plate is not where the computer is in my machine 😊 I have a stick on light in the throat. I'm thinking of putting a thin strip of command strip there😂🤣 sometimes I use variegated thread, since I saw you used it before. I used it on my boat dress ❤ I'm almost done organizing my fabric..I just keep buying more, 😮 😂🤣 hopefully I'll be done soon and I'll show some of my organizing things😍 you'll probably be done with your stuff lol im at least 80% there now!

Thanks for a great video. I had seen that dress in one of Mari's unboxings (was that yours?) and wondered what pattern it was. I'm getting it now to make some bigger dresses for next year. I haven't ordered from Wawak but may do so now. Like you, I love a good assortment of pins. Since I like pincushions, too, I tend to keep each kind in a different pincushion (or magnetic plate or magnetic holder)... it's too easy to collect sewing stuff! I look forward to seeing how you organize your miscellaneous drawers. It's never easy!

Is the light on your machine safe for computerized machines? Love that idea-is it in the sewing area or lighting at Wal-Mart?

Can u do a tutorial on fitting a pattern to your body
@AndraMakes3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Debbie! Can you be a little more specific? Do you mean choosing what size pattern to make, or, adjusting the pattern pieces to fit your body, or something else? Thanks! 💜
@debbiesnyder7623 жыл бұрын
Actually both of those. I get so confused on high bust measurement, pattern bust measurement on a pattern with the finished garment measurement which is always different that the pattern numbers. My measurements are all over the pattern not like u who seems to b able to use bust the regular pattern without adjustments. It’s just confusing
@AndraMakes3 жыл бұрын
You’re right! It is so confusing! I recommend always going by the finished garment measurements. That is the actual size the garment will be once it’s sewn. I wish I could help with adjusting pattern pieces to fit your body, grading between sizes, etc.; but, I don’t have any experience with doing that, and wouldn’t be much help. Check out Inside the Hem on KZbin. Lindsey has fit guide worksheets you can download that will help tremendously, and she has lots of tutorials on her channel about how to make adjustments! You can totally do it! 💜
