i just did 740 from idianapolis to the triple nickle in ohio then back. i also stopped at the iron pony north of columbus. i average 49 mpg. really pleased with tbe pan am seat and suspension.

I miss the Twisted Sisters. Great roads in the Hill Country. There used to be a motorcycle museum near Leakey. The owner was a former racer from Australia or Britain. I wonder if it's still there.

I usually cruise at about the same speed as you. I’m surprised at your poor gas mileage. I did an Iron Butt on mine last summer with two other guys. They were on a Street Glide and a Road Glide and at each gas stop my Pan America took a little less than the other two.

My Road Glide gets 50-55 mpg on hi ways with cruise control on. Pan America I rarely use cruise control and get about 35 mpg.

35mpg really were you full throttle all the way? I have a PA and ride moderate to fast and I get 50mpg or more all day every day. If on the motorway (interstate) cruise at 75 on cruise control.

I do hammer it a lot, I'm sure that a lot of it is me.

When tired, I cruise speed limit or a bit less and when wide awake and alert 10-15 over speed limit.
