Elvis was born (literally) in a one room shack in Tupelo, Miss. The small house only had one big room divided into living and sleeping quarters. He then moved to a government housing project in Memphis. His father was out of work and they were broke. Yeah, Elvis knows about growing up dirt poor. So, when he sang about "Ghetto" he knew what that was all about.

THIS MUST BE RE-RELEASED (and with a longer mix). THIS is PURE GOLD. A HIT that was overlooked and crosses over into different genres, different generations, different cultures and LIKE ELVIS, mixes them all together to come up with something brilliant, fresh and new. Doubt the guys will ever see this, but damn, THIS STILL has legs... it would sad as hell to see this slip into total obscurity.

I knoooow right, it needs way more done with it, longer, an intro, more verses telling their story, it's like as soon as it starts it's over

I love this song, a hidden gem that will sadly, unlikely be properly released. Maybe one day Paul will drop it. Not even sure if it's been properly mixed. Feels like there was another verse or two left off, maybe they had a feature planned.

@@ludotoyhunter8492 u absolutely correct. I was working for EPE(Elvis Presley Enterprise) around the time this album was about to drop and they wouldn't clear the sample which was dumb as hell because the shit would've been a hit

Elvis grew up extremely poor but he was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. He moved to Memphis whe he was about 13 I believe. 36 Mafia apparently grew up close to Graceland (his later famous home in Memphis once he was well known and bought that house for his family.) So no doubt they all understood what it was like to grow up poor.

I was watching a reaction video of Elvis and the Black Community and seen these guys speaking and remixing Elvis's song In the Ghetto. It sounded good during that documentary so can here to listen to the entire song. Not a fan of rap I did enjoy this and pretty much describes how life is for some unfortunately. What's bad is when the song was wrote originally, years later Elvis recorded it, and now there are so many families STILL living in that situation. So as much as technology has advanced and our country grew...living below poverty & struggling to survive is still occurring. 🥺

They did, back in like 09 or a lil earlier, I was in military jamming this…. It was so short they created this in a tv episode in like 10 mins just playing around showing the camera man how they make. A sample, they didn’t expect it to be much of nothing so never gave it any play just put it in their cd, I allways loved it bc it was such an instant hit to me, I’m from m town so this resonates real highly for me, delta Ms Inverness to be exact just like bb king( no he didn’t come from Indianola) moved to Memphis and some how survived it

@BlakSpade420 it was this short bcuz they only remixed it for a documetary about elvis....i bet everyone who saw this video other than the 9 people tht dont like it would want it published into a full song....but ur right no other rappers could make a song this short and this good.....36 Mafia & Elvis forever
