I know a lot of girls who's father's were the exact opposite and one of the most important stories I could tell is this one friend I had in middle school. We were around the same age(probably 15) and had similar interests so I went over to her house for the first time and the conversation led to talking about our families, she started crying after I told her that she deserves better and I asked if she wanted a hug, she proceeded to cling to me the whole time until I had to leave. She was so amazed that I actually listened to her and didn't get annoyed at her for being emotional and I'm 100% sure she would have done anything I asked her to if I had ulterior motives. So many girls don't know how to react when a guy is actually interested in their personal life or touches them in a non sexual manner (like a genuine hug) because they've never experienced it before and it makes them vulnerable to getting hurt or manipulated.

@amandachilds52902 жыл бұрын
Yes but he got one thing wrong, partly. You show your daughters you love them because if you just say it then when someone else says it they will believe it, too. If you SHOW them and say it then when the person only says it and doesn't show it, they will discern the truth and not waste their time on lip service. Too many parents get this wrong and then wonder why their kids end up with classical and covert narcissists and other BS, user types. The answer is they fell for it because it was familiar, their childhood idea of love that their parent.or parents portrayed.. Prioritize your kids and they will not waste time on people who cannot and will not reciprocate! Don't spoil them with praise once in a while and ignore them the majority or they will seek that in a spouse without even knowing and those types will find them so quick and get their hooks in easy. Also, It is CRUCIAL to Treat your spouse the way you want your Kid's spouses to treat them! Role model it with actions and not just words or if you can't then get out of the way for someone who can if you want your kids to have their best chance in life.

I sincerely appreciate the kind words too. I know my relationship with my parents will likely not improve due to certain circumstances, but I hope all of you are able to improve your relationships with your parent(s), and if not then I hope you can find a father/mother figure to be there for you and show you what love from that certain missing person feels like. Thankfully I have a father figure in my life, he and his wife have taken me under their wings and treat me like blood, allowing me to stay over sometimes, work for them, babysit their biological daughters, have dinners with them, etc. I am extremely lucky to have found someone like that, and I hope all of you do as well. Maybe you can help me understand something. A bit of a story so bear with me. I have a niece who will be turning 16 in a couple months. Her father, my brother, committed suicide when she was an infant. She was adopted by a woman who was single so no father figure her whole life except my parents who could visit her a number of times over the years. My wife and I finally saw her this year twice. I was very happy to see her and I'm pretty sure she was happy to see me. I suspect and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe she very much wants to know me and is happy when I'm around because I'm the closest thing she has to her father. My wife told me she told her I'm more normal than my parents so I guess that's good lol

@@madphatdopeyo742 i know for me it’s always nice having a male role model in my life and does make me happy because it makes me feel like for even a moment that I do have a dad. Whenever I see anything about a dad being happy with his kids it’s like a stab in the heart cause I know I never or will ever have that. So I’m sure when she sees you especially being the uncle it’s kinda like she is drawn more to you because you’re the closest thing she’ll ever have to a dad. If I could give you advice just please try to always be in her life as much as you possibly can. @memecat I mean Modern women tend to go after boys who are raised only by a single parent, mostly a mother. So the men that most likely have never had a father figure, to begin with, and worse, they are never around men who will act like it to them so the cycle continues. My father is the kindest man I know, taught me how to shoot, how to have patience, and to be a kind human being. My mom tried to teach me to be a victim, to hurt those who hurt me, and to never fully trust a person even a friend (When they both separated). I don't hate my mother, but I noticed my sister was the same with her kids, my cousin was the same with her child and it's just something I noticed. We need both parents to make a decent human being, single parents make a monster 80% of the time. That or never have a country parent marry a city parent XD

😍 This is spot on! My stepdad raised me and I didn't have an involved father before him. He sent me Valentine's gifts to school and had 16 roses delivered to class on my 16th birthday. He took me out often, just me and him, to a nice restaurant or a movie and listened to everything going on in my life. He taught me I had value and to respect myself. I wasn't perfect, but I was not running around with boys like my friends. I wasn't looking for validation because I had that. My husband is wonderful and loves me the way my daddy loved my mama because he set the bar watching how he treated her and us. He's my guiding light because he didn't have to be, but I felt better about myself because he wanted to be my father, even if my bio dad didn't. He always treated me equally to my siblings that came after me, and I'm so thankful for him. That is what a father is, steadfast and constant! ♥️

And ironically, when he left, I wasn't even surprised just disappointed. Even as a kid I never felt loved or cared by him, just a burden but I remember doing a LOT to gain his approval and affection. It never felt like I did enough. The other males in my family have been the same. It does take a toll, so it hurts. I hope it gets better for us 💜 so idk I'm telling you this (a life story no on asked or cares about) bcs a family member's behavior affects us and sometimes it doesn't even take them doing something physically but emotionally (even unconsciously) to also hurt us. So it's understandable. I won't say it's ok but I hope u can feel a little better some day. 💜 + for me, it took some years to see my worth and value myself. I thankfully never had to learn that with the wrong individual, so I'm grateful for that. I truly hope u can smile soon. :)

Me too man my “dad” thinks that if he buys me stuff occasionally its enough . He doesnt feel the need to verbally tell me he loves me/or communicate with me at all. But he’s a step so oh well. I still remember one day out of rage I almost told him that while yes, he is married to my mother so he is technically my step father, never once have I considered him my dad and he will never be my dad, that he’ll never be that man a daughter sees as loving, kind or my standard for guys or even just people. Sometimes i wish i’d told him that maybe it’ll make him realise he isnt as good as a father he thinks he is. Or that i’ll never have the precious memories my sister(his biological daughter) has with him. sorry for the long paragraph, I just had to get it out.

If modern society only had 1/10th consideration for boys and men. So many end up on drugs, suicide or no direction in life, and the worms around could care less. With no fault divorce, many men end up losing everything including the biggest which is their children. Men are sent to war to die, to build up society, protect women and children and for all that the media, big business and government demonizes and mock them and call them toxic. We live in such sick times that many times mothers/sisters will fight against this war on men while other treacherous men will pull down their fellow brother down.

@@HassleHoffer372 I would assume you’re young. It’s funny because when I was young, I never wondered what it would be like to be old. I had a great childhood and life. But I’m sure some things would have been different if my Dad hadn’t died when I was so young. I grew up in the 70’s, great decade, and without the stern hand of a father and my Mom being both parents, I was an unruly kid at times. Fortunately, I had a great Mom though who loved me more than life itself. She did everything for my sister and I, made sure we had everything. I went to college, had a career, lived a fun adventurous life, retired at 52. I have some regrets like not telling my Mom or showing her that I loved her as much as I wish I did, or spending as much time with her that I now wish I did. Don’t get me wrong, I did tell/show her that I loved her, but you always feel like you could have done more especially after they die, which she did 11 years ago. Her passing brought me to my knees and I have never been the same since, and I’ll never get over it. Maybe it’s a combination of getting older and having too much time on my hands that I think about these things. I do think about choices I’ve made, some I regret, but everyone makes not the best choices in life. I never got married nor had children, so I think about that too. It can be lonely at times since I have no family left, but I do have my friends and I still enjoy life with activities and hobbies, I’m healthy with not one ailment, still look good and in good shape for my age…63 isn’t that old, so I still have time to continue to enjoy what life has to offer. Death is not something I’m afraid of and I’ll be ready when the time comes. I have done a lot in my life so I don’t feel like I missed out on anything. The way this world is going, I don’t want to be here when it gets really bad. I am grateful that I grew up and was young during the best decades ever which imo was before the year 2000. So I’ll leave you with a quote you may be too young to have heard before, but one that I have lived by: “Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, “Wow what a ride!” ~ Hunter S. Thompson

Romantic relationships are not a beautiful thing. Romance causes a lot of problems in this world. Life is a lot better without romance than it is with it. Romantic love is not special at all, and I think that the romantic type of love isn't real. More than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, And most couples who are still together are usually not happy being together. Also, there are a lot of toxic romantic relationships. Like an example is that abuse happens a lot in romantic relationships.

Sadly even girls who know their father is trash... are atracted to men with the same traits. It's familiar behaviour. If while dating he seems better, they think he'll remain that way. They are used to low expectations, to bad behaviour excused as "oh, he's jealous because he loves me", to crumbs as good things.

Eh. To this day I've never seen a more devoted and loving man than my father. Growing up and still to this day he doted on my mother and treated/treats her like a queen. Never heard him say an unkind word or raise his voice toward her. My older brother still turned out to be a man whore who only treats certain women with respect and that's women who he believes respect themselves. We grew up in South Korea so you can imagine what type of woman this is. I know it's seen as out of date and sexist these days but a woman with a high body count and is loose with her body gets treated as such. So in addition to this, to protect your daughters against men like this tell them sleeping with every guy who looks in their direction isn't empowering.

Second I told her I will never question her decisions, if she partied to much and no one can drive that I didn’t care no matter what, where and time of day and night I would come and get her and her friends and bring them all home safe. One night I got that call and showed up with old school head phones on as to not hear any of them talking and screaming drunk stories. And lastly I watched over her and payed attention to her actions, her moods, to know when changes occurred in her life. I knew many things that were going on all through her life. All her boy friends and so on. She is a very pretty girl. Even though my father died when I was a teenager, I made a promise to God and myself to be a great father. She’s my only child. Today she is a great woman. And never let me down, always was responsible. And she’s a fantastic Dr. my advice would be, be a part of your child life, be aware of them, their moods, their actions, their thought process, and most of all be there.

The way you said that reminded me so much of my Dad. I lost him unexpectedly a few years ago and I miss him so much every day. My Dad was my own personal super hero and my best friend all in one. Your daughters are very lucky to have a dad like you.

Your significant other is your best friend. You’re father is your father and sounds like a kind man. R.I.P.
