This video showed me that while pilots aren’t always at home, they have great opportunities to spend quality time with their family all over the world! Thank you for being real in this video. Too many KZbinrs create videos of their perfect lives and cut out the kinds of things that you included like flights not going according to plan, camera awkwardness (with your wife in the bloopers lol), etc. I liked and subscribed and can’t wait for more videos like this one!

I'm a million miler on Delta but recently downsized and moved to Greenville GSP. Most of my flights are now GSP to ATL to my final destination. Almost two years an averaging a trip a month getting ready to head to England and Scotland in a week or so. Love the videos, and love your family. My brother in law is a training captain for the Dreamliner at British Airways. So I’ve had some amazing trips with him. Mostly manage to get first class on the outbound and after 3 days of layover with the crew, we know them so well, we let them sit down in first class and serve them, provided its empty of paying passengers. Other benefits we get are airline floors in hotels with dedicated checkin and concierge as well as crew transfers to and from the airport. I’m waiting to get to fly the SIM some time. We also get upgraded frequently when we fly BA.

Awesome trip report! I love that mix of travel tips and insights into your daily life. Ages ago, before 9/11, I had the most amazing and exciting flight of my life when I got invited to sit on a jumpseat in the cockpit as the airline had assigned my seat in the back also to another person on a fully booked short-haul flight for my weekend commute back home to Berlin from Frankfurt. So if I'll ever have to choose between flying first class suite or jumpseat, it will always be the latter. Yes, not really comfortable, but for someone not used to sit in the cockpit, you won't really notice that. But, for obvious reasons, those days probably won't come back.

Earlier this year I flew into CDMX from IAH with United and with my Bernese Mountain Service Dog. Immigration was backed up and I missed my connecting flight by 5 minutes. Me and my SD needed fresh air so went outside and plopped down. The gate agent from United walked by us. He had answered a question for me when we got off our flight. When he noticed us he stopped and asked me what happened. He knew I had a connecting flight. I explained the situation. He said come with me. He got us a room at the Camino Real and gave me meal vouchers. He was soooo nice to do this. I fly ALOT with my SD and had never been treated so well. We love United Airlines

Ah the delights of staff standby. My dad worked for BA at EDI, ground staff. I was lucky enough to be able to fly to Australia at the age of 10. All 4 of us ended up in different seats on a 747 so people were asked to swap so my brother and I could sit with 1 parent. It could certainly be a hassle over the years, dressing smartly and hanging around LHR after a shuttle from EDI and running for the flight at the last minute. Worth it for the travel opportunities though, at little cost.

Been a Non-Rev my entire life. Mom was a Gate Agent and is now retired. I remember sitting in airports for hours trying to get home, changing what city we went through, all based on open seats, over solds, other NonRevs, NonRevs tiered status vs active vs non vs buddy passes... We always took the very first flight out, 6am'ish, so you know how many HK's or holdovers that are going to take your seats. The best part of NonRev is that you get upgraded for free whenever its open. I've flown 1st class so may times for no reason, just becuase of being a NonRev. My other favorite thing about NonRev, is that you are the very last person(s) to board. Takes the anxiety of a slow TSA way down.
