I love that you guys give back to the community! There are Facebook trolls everywhere and they are cowards, like you mentioned they can hide behind their keyboards, and that makes them brave. It's nice that you keep your FB page free from all of that.

I just finished watching your video and I love your transparency. I am a native returning to live here. Glad to be back but not naive or ignorant of the many things that could/should be better. Haters will hate, not surprised at their shenanigans. I just choose to ignore and keep it moving. In a sense, I'm getting familiarized with how things are here, period. Please don't come here with the line "well in the states, we do thus and such"; go back if that's how your conversations are started. At this age, I just want to live in peace, one of the main reasons for returning. Grow my garden, live a bit more out of the box. Thank you for sharing, appreciate it a whole lot. Have a great day!

Just watched your three year-end videos back to back, and though I haven’t watched other videos, may I say you look sooo VIBRANT and healthy here?! I did hear in the second year video that you had some health issues, so I’m so pleased to see you looking so well. Here’s to your continued health and happiness!

ALWAYS pay by the milestone in Panamá. Never pay half or completely upfront. This is an issue we have been dealing our whole life.

You all rock! Does Boquete have a lot of negative expats? lol, maybe I need to check out el valle instead. You all are doing great things and so informative and real, thank you!

Boquete, Bocas, and Coronado are the "hot beds" of miserable expats, but that's just because there are more expats in those areas. Keep in mind that for every 1 whining, miserable, entitled, bitter expat there are 100+ kind, wonderful expats. It's just that the few jerks tend to be the loudest because the good people mind their own business. :)

Roads “crapola” 😂🤣 I am seriously thinking about retiring in Panama in 2025 when I turned 62. I think it’s amazing that you have done this work with the indigenous women and also the blood donor project. I have been a nurse for 40 years and if I do come there, I would be interested in helping with that if needed. I believe my blood type O neg as well which makes me a universal donor so I would be happy to donate blood. I am a big dog lover so it’s great that they have a dog camp. So sorry to hear about the attitude of some of the expats. Thank you so much for making this video. It is very helpful for people who are thinking about coming there. Mike Tyson tells it like it is 🤣😂

First, let me say that I feel like I know you and Brian my whole life, although we have never met. I've seen, I believe, all of your video's and been a part of your Facebook group for most, if not, the entire time its been up. I seriously owe "yall", sorry but as "yall" already know, I am a "sureno" through and through, but I owe yall alot. "Yall" have been so kind, so giving, I am just thankful for you and everything yall have provided to me, but really to your subscribers over the past few years. Particularly for those of us looking at Panama as place to either retire or retire/ open a business. I can never repay yall the wealth of information you have had the courage to post here. Obviously, yall have succeeded in Panama. But you also had some severe challenges, aka failures, that nobody is honest enough post for the world to see. I will tell you, I wish I had your courage. Your chutzpah...your "I have no more f's to give". That's who you are, and that is maybe the best thing any of us can aspire to be. All that to say...thank you Mary! Thank you Brian! God bless and God Speed and let's meet up someday soon!

Thank you for those kind words!! I've spent the last 3 years trying to help people, and it's definitely soul lifting when someone acknowledges it! And yeah......I ran out of f's to give long before I got to Panama!! 😉

Protests in Panama go back to ever since her independence from Spain, it is how government attention is drawn to issues. Typically, unlike many countries, it does not result in hundreds dead in the streets or cities looted and on fire.
@IGoPanama Жыл бұрын
None of that means I enjoy dealing with them. 🙂

In your opinion, are the protests effective?

I was told to just bring my clothes and cat. Then I can get a furnished apartment. This scares the crap out of me. My biggest fear is money. I am single and 80. Health is excellent. I can save up some money for security deposits etc. I was thinking about $3000 in savings. And my income is about $1600 after taxes. Is this enough or will I be homeless?
