EUC for the WIN !! I have been riding for 7 years ang I still have a smile on my face every single time i put a foot on my "precious" :) You'll never get bored with it and you will use it for a bunch of different things ... not just film making ...

hey great video, fellow unicyclist here! Just a bit of advice, hit up a local EUC group and ask the guys to try a Leaperkim wheel like a Sherman S or a Lynx, the suspension on them is really like butter, ideal for camera work. From InMotion another wheel that might be smoother than v14 is V11.
@user-bp5py6bh3g6 ай бұрын
V14 is incredibly smooth, not far off a Lynx in terms of suspension feel. The V11's suspension is abysmal and worse than non-suspension wheels
@boblatkey71606 ай бұрын
@AndreiPetuninNo way. Lynx is best!

I have been doing this a lot while living here in the himalayas - india. Riding from past 4 years and created lot of content. Its quite great to shoot with your hands being free and roaming around to capture best moving shots. ☺ Currently i also leave a drone in active track mode when i go on uphill or valley and village roads. Cheers to new unlocking potential for those who use it and are about to get started. 🤟 #LoveFromHimalayas

Almost all of my content that is on ground and moving is filmed by a camera person on an EUC. We have been doing it for years and its amazing, it enables amazing shots like this effortlessly: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4nLY3-geZehd5Ysi=afOGdbhCIMhdQ9o6&t=304

V14 is way overkill for filmmaking, but over all I think it's a good thing that they are plugging in motion and high-end EUCs in general. If you are not ready to give $3k for this, even though in the world of film making it's not that crazy of a price, you can get a used kingsong 16x for under $1k these days.
@randallkornholio29716 ай бұрын
Maybe not...if there are extremely steep hills, or fast moving subjects this could keep up really well, plus the progressive shock probably really aids in keeping the shot nice and smooth

Awesome video, also as a EUC rider and a Sound Op. I can see our EUCs being really great for action shots of cars and bikes, but it might not be a great tool for many other aspects of filming.

You were using the stock suspension which is really meant. To soften the big jumps and acrobatics, there is a smother suspension available for more of a urban use.

I think in certain situations an EUC would be great. It's not a one size fit all when it comes to filming. It's just another tool in the bag. With that said, EUCs can just be fun in itself. A great hobby to get into. You would be able to explore and see things you probably wouldn't if you didn't have one.

Looks amazing for the tracking shots, especially the last one following a car through the trees! I'm extremely curious to try to at least use a segway for gimbal shots, but having broken my wrist falling off an electric scooter just days before an important commercial shoot that was 99% handheld and gimbal movement left a really sour taste in my mouth.

Nice video, always thought about this! Questions: Have you tried it without a gimbal and/or camera without stabilization (good video idea for a full comparison) & even though it’s made for outdoor use, would you use it indoors (real estate, corporate, trade show) for slower paced long-form shots?
@threefoldtv6 ай бұрын
Great questions! I think with enough practice it has potential to use it is almost anywhere. Although a smaller version of it would definitely be better for interiors. This one weighing 80 lbs and being a bigger would make it a little challenging and some smaller locations like a house. I think some locations it would probably not be the right choice but who knows! Only the start 😄
@lefotografion6 ай бұрын
Inmotion V8 are the better choice for indoor or slow paced stuff, you can easily go 5kmh. The big wheels are just not great at being ridden slowly
@frozenwalkway6 ай бұрын
i kinda got into eucs for this idea, and then i kinda just fell in love with riding instead lol. i bought an exn eventually, and i thought i could do it on that but the exn doesnt have a shock its hard tail, so even with a gimbal setup i was getting shocks to the video. i wonder if the segway experience made it easier than from straight i had a long learning curve on my own but it was a small wheel the mcm5. dope video

I think you have pretty much optimal EUC for the job, perhaps if you want more stability you could try street tire on it. Changing tire changes the characteristic of the EUC.
@lefotografion6 ай бұрын
Street tire for filming stuff would definitely be better, but a good street tire for 16inchers... Idk. Would they have gotten a normal 20 inch euc, they would have had plenty of choices

Have you rode one? I got a GT June, 8th, 2023. have over 2,300 miles on it. Got my V14 adventure for my first euc March 13th, 2024 ( Day my buddy passed😭) And tis no comparison. Where I can go with the Euc the Onewheel can't make up for it. I literally went up Mt. Tom with it. on the effing trails. where I had to pick uo the one wheel many times.

@user-bp5py6bh3g6 ай бұрын
2:35 You need to calibrate the wheel, it's tilted way too far forward
@lefotografion6 ай бұрын
Yea I noticed that too. Makes it easy to accelerate, but way harder to break. And it does weird stuff in turns

The V14 Can eat its battery really quickly sometimes if you go really fast but it does support fast charging you can charge it from empty to full in one hour

What about filming with FPV drone. I love my v14 of course I can also do filming with..but like you say you need sometimes to focus on your driving skills and not on filming. Mastering FPV drone can do all..... except sound because of too much noise from drone motors. So yes it depends on using the right tools in the right moment
@threefoldtv6 ай бұрын
You said it absolutely right. Right tools for the right job. FPV drones are incredible but they have a harder learning curve to master than an EUC LOL
@lefotografion6 ай бұрын
But you can train FPV in Simulators, can train EUC in sims. I learned it my self this way, uncrashed on steam for 15€ and Jumper T-light radio Controller for 65€. Cheapest starter set for FPV training
