I am 13 weeks pregnant with my 5th child. After a horrible miscarriage after my 4th I didn’t think God wanted me to have any more but after watching some of your videos and hearing your miscarriage stories and how you were able to continue on and carry more children you really helped me heal and move towards putting it in Gods hands. Thank you for making videos and sharing your life with all of us. You are loved more then you could ever know!

I am so sorry for your loss Amanda! I also had my first miscarriage after my 4th child. I just wanted to let you know I went on to have 5 more healthy babies thereafter. Miscarried my 10th baby a few months ago at 11 weeks. The pain of loss is searing, but the LORD will see us through. All these little ones lives, no matter how long he or she is here for, is for His glory! Much love to you! ❤️ 🙏

64 year old man here. i find lots of discarded candles in dumpsters, so i melt these in a tin can on the wood stove in winter. i use old Pringles cans as a mold and broken tapers for the wick. i store these in 18 in boxes to use if and when i need them. i have a large metal stand with a globe to hold these candles that i dug out of 2 separate dumpsters and glued 2 broken door mirrors i salvaged to reflect that candle light (i cut those broken mirrors to the height of my globe) i also make cold process soap in 60 pound batches using used vegitable shortning tossed out in plastic icing buckets at a convenience store

Used the lids that came with the jars. Next project is either turkey or apple butter! There’s only two of us so I can do small projects. “Leaving it for next year” helps the microbes and worms eat off the roots and plants. Your soil will thank you for the nourishment. If your kids want to cut the plants just cut above the soil leaving the root system to aerate the soil during the winter.

Makes me think about a story I read as a child in elementary school. There was a family that was complaining about the size of their house and the fact that there was not enough room. There were the grandparents, parentts and two young children. They were complaining to an elder about their housing. Well the advice was to invite in some of the animals. They kept this up until they said enough. The elder then said take all the naimals out. Boy what room. Problem solved. You my dear will have a whole new kitchen. I am not saying that you are complaining but you are busting at the seams. You seem to have such a wonderful husband. I have one of those his name is Don. Married 50 years. That he would do the basement for you is such a blessing. Not all men would be so thoughtful. You are me in many ways but a whole lot younger about 30 years. I had my last child at 41. Just got to old. You are such an inspiration to me. I am 72 and disabled now and watching you brings back such fond memories. People do nor realize what a labor of love canning is especially corn. 90 minutes a quart. I was up many a night getting it done. There is great satisfaction in full shelves of home canned food. Well this old bord has ratteled along long enough. Blessings. Just sayen.

I volunteer here in NJ at the shore at a community pantry garden and we are also always planting music. We are doing it today, in fact, it’ll go into a bed which is 6’x24’. At home? I plant on the 15th of November. All garlic bulbs and tulips etc. it was my sister’s birthday and since cancer stole her away from me in 2015, I’ve planted on her birthday each year. You look amazing, Mom!! Pretty soon a new little one will be in your arms.

I’m sorry for your loss, but I absolutely love how you honor her memory by starting new life. Beautiful idea to honor a loved one.

I was inspired by your video on canning pears. I have several pear trees and I had a very bountiful harvest this year. My mother made a desert she called pear crumble and it has ginger powder in the crumble . I have never made pear pie filling (have lots of apple pie filling)so this year I made pear pie filling but added ginger instead of cinnamon. It tastes very yummy. How do you keep weevils from getting into your stored foods? I just had to throw out a bunch due to some getting in and laying eggs under my back door jam. As days warm, they crawl out - nothing seems to kill them except me - slowly hand picking them each day as they hatch and come out. I'm very blessed they don't bite, itch, or smell. I pcik and drop into a waste can full of tainted food as they get collected then wrap in plastic bag for the garbage can. Have just wiped down all the cabinets with vinegar but forgot the bird seed under the front door cabinet - they did not forget it - so now there is a bunch of seed dumped into the compost pile, too. You have so much abundance, but how to protect it would be great video. Thanks for all your inspiration and happy kid smiles.

@@TheWyomingHomestead I've never seen it here in New York until this year. A local apple orchard near me had such a blessing with the bees pollinating almost every flower bud on their trees that they couldn't sell their apples before the first major frost. So they had a sale. $55 to fill a small car, $65 for an SUV, and $75 for a truck. You fill as much as you want into your vehicle and pay that price. Normally 1 Bushel of apples is about $45. So I had to jump on it

I'm a beginner canner. I canned a few items but am so scared of getting botulism. Is there a way to test a jar when you open it? I know you can't smell or see it. I'm so afraid to use what I canned. Ugh! UPDATE: I'm still a beginner but I've learned if I follow the safe guidelines I can trust it. I'm not afraid anymore and have become addicted to canning. Beginner's, if you are afraid like I was start with an electric pressure canner. Takes the scariness out of it. Mine is the Presto.

I got my garlic planted two weeks ago. Good thing as first snow yesterday. There is only me, so I planted my first garlic and excited to grow and see it harvested. Only planted 6 bulbs. I planted the small cloves too as more garlic is better than not. I only saved for eating what cloves got part of the skins removed when separately. Hope mine in a raised bed does well. My last process was apple butter too 4 days ago. I put in crockpot after peeling and coring. I don't have a food mill. That was a lot of work. Lol. I used cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. My apples were not that great and used brown sugar and white sugar, as well as vanilla. Tasted like childhood. So glad I gave it a try. My great aunts sent us some and I could not stand commercial apple butter. So glad I finally gave it a try.

Especially if you have pets in the house. I could easily dust and vacuum daily and get plenty of dust and fur every time. Notice I said “could” do it daily, that most certainly doesn’t happen in my life. We have hardwood floors and use a squiggee(?-no idea on spelling there) and it works great, it prevents the fur from going airborne. I swept yesterday and could have built another cat and dog with the amount of fur I swept up, so was a touch behind on sweeping! 😹

I love dates in my oatmeal. I find I don’t need a lot of additional honey.

What good boys to help their mom. Your children are very well mannered. I have boys and my grandson helped me with the garlic this year. This is my first year with garlic

I love seeing what your pantry looks like right after canning season when organization is a crazy challenge. I feel like I have jars everywhere in my storage rooms and cases of things stacked on top of each other and inventory right now would be impossible lol. I keep sending my kids downstairs with cases of full jars and they keep putting them wherever they fit - no organization at all lol. It’s a project for a rainy day later on I think lol. Thankyou ❤️

Really enjoy watching cantry videos, it's so inspiring even though I do so much of my own. I finally got good quality metal shelving units for organizing mine, now I can keep track of what I have alot better rather than it being scattered in all areas of my basement. It feels so good to have food security. Will be joining your pantry challenge again as well.
