I do agree with you. However, I think it's just in her character to show appreciation to her viewers in any way she can. There are some vloggers who get a decent following, then they seem to think views are owed to them. Jessica seems to have a sweet spirit and I believe she will continue to check in with us, even if she has a million followers! I always learn something from her videos and I just really appreciate her efforts. ♥️🙏🏼🇺🇲

Absolutely! I raised 6 boys and a whole bunch of the neighborhood kids used to come to my house before school. We lived just across the road from the school. What an honour and a privilege that they wanted to be there. Things were noisy and messy, not like Jessica's at all, but they came anyway.

My 13-year-old son wasn't sure what to get me for my birthday in March he offered to treat me to something at the garden store. He spent $7 on a package of onions bulbs, and we grew so many onions. I love seeing your videos Jessica of your beautiful family. I also now don't feel so bad about letting my garden look messy, you are right. It doesn't have to be beautiful.

I’m sitting here on the couch sipping coffee, watching you work, and telling myself “I need to pause this and go put in a load of clothes.” (I did) and “I need to stop and go let the chickens out”.(I did).. … LOL. Thank you for prodding me to get MY chores done! I don’t mind direct vlogging or voiceovers. A combination is fine. We are just joining YOUR day, so whatever works for you is fine. People who criticize should remember that. Don’t apologize for distracting noises or messy gardens.. we ALL have noise distractions in our lives, and NO ONE has a perfectly neat and orderly garden, if they say they do, they are either fibbing, or have no other life BUT the garden.. LOL. You have a large family with a lot on your plate and the fact that you manage to do what you do is an accomplishment in itself.

I personally prefer the voice over format however your little garden chat after harvesting the vegetables with your little boy was the sweetest thing ever. His toothless smile just melted my heart. Glad you gave yourself grace about the weeds. I think God gives us weeds for many reasons. They help me keep humble. And I always have enough from my large garden so the weeds may live in harmony.

I completely understand that just because you can't keep the weeds controlled, doesn't make the garden a failure. We got so much rain and the weeds took over my garden. Then while weeding I injured my wrist, so no more weeding, while it heals. But much garden still blesses us with food. This week green beans, wax beans, and 2 zucchini. 😊

It's always such an enjoyable time watching your videos while I do my own chores around the house, Jessica. Congratulations on your newest pregnancy! After following along these past few years, it was a joy to praise God alongside you as you prepare to welcome another baby into your home. I agree with the other comments I've seen that I enjoy all of your videos and would watch regardless, but there is something special about seeing your day in the life vlogs that show longer stretches of your day and include your kids' comments. I know you work hard to protect their privacy and understand if that can't be the norm, but it was sweet to watch your interactions. Hannah especially seems like such a sweet, cuddly toddler. Hope you have a great week, thank you for sharing snippets of your life on here!

I love to garden and preserve my food and it’s fun to get different ideas. I’m self employed and fast approaching 66, my garden is messy in some areas but I appreciate the abundance that I get as well. I’m learning to give myself some grace if things don’t go as planned. I’m looking forward to the every bit counts challenge.

While I do enjoy your voice-over style videos from the last few years, I loved this, too. Maybe do a mix of the two. Seeing you littles in the mix too was wonderful!!

I really like the voice over style videos they keep me pulled in the whole time and it has nice good detail. I also like how I can better connect with the large family homestead living with the vlog style. I aspire to live this lifestyle one day and it’s nice to see how it looks with your family in that way. Whichever is easier for you is great!

Loved the DItL, but compilations are great, too. I loved your conversation with your son about how God can work with our mess and the good that can come from it. Our church is actually using What A Mess VBS this summer, and as I've been preparing for the daily lessons, I find it very reassuring that God loves us even when we're messy. Nothing is impossible with God and boy, am I thankful for that promise. Anyway, thanks for sharing a snippet of your life.

I just learned in May that there was such a thing as a whole fridge. I think it’s a great idea.

I love how you show how you actually want and like spending time with your kids. It is such a blessing for them, and I pray more parents feel the same. Too often parents speak like they’re a burden. And I know they can be a lot and we need a break sometimes, but how wonderful to actually enjoy them! Also, I one year let my garden go so badly that I didn’t even harvest what was ready! I let much of it rot on the vine! I was pregnant and exhausted and the mosquitos were epic, as was the heat. I had to practice serious “letting go!”

I personally prefer the voice overs because I watch in bed before I go to sleep and many times fall asleep and have to rewatch it’s so relaxing. The volume is more consistent on the voice overs to not disturb/startle my husband or more importantly my sleeping or nursing infant. I love your content!

Jessica, thank you for constantly reminding us that life is fluid. For years you have shared how you carve out quiet time each week to plan for school, meals, enrichment activities to support the children’s interests, gardening, harvesting, etc. In your role as wife and mother, these plans are your covenant with God to be a good steward of your time (among other things). Thank goodness God doesn’t measure our success by the number of items we cross off the list each day. Instead, He is honored by our ability to see His hand at work in a garden full of weeds and the death of a refrigerator. What a beautiful harvest of onions and garlic were hidden among the weeds. And, as one refrigerator had to be re-homed, a new one to better meet your family’s needs, took its place. It is in the most fluid moments of life that our greatest moments may be realized when the roots of our faith grow deeper. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!! Again, thank you, for all these beautiful reminders! ❤

Well said... it is just as important to get in our daily "spiritual" exercise as it is for the "physical" exercise AND the rest/"listening time" as well. Blessings Kiddo!🌻🐛🌿💚🙏💕

Jessica I am your age and I’m not pregnant and my weeds are out of control this year because it’s either too hot or I’m too busy. You’re doing great and am glad you are giving yourself grace. I’m about yo weed wack it tonight when it’s no longer 90 degrees!

You do you! I don't think people understand that their preferences may not align with the content creators life. I couldn't even imagine having to please hundreds - thousands of opinions. Best to do what's best for you and your family. We can adapt. 😅

I think it’s wonderful and biblical to have a “quiver full“ of children! It really doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. It is between you, your husband, and our Lord God. I also do not think you seem tired. That is your basic personality-very quiet, humble, and soft-spoken. I love the way that you interact with your children. Blessings to you!

I like both formats!! Do what works best for you for each video. Thanks for the time you give to show us what you are growing, preparing, and preserving. Much appreciated! Your new refrigerator is wonderful!! I had wondered about having that in the kitchen. I love your gentle spirit and quiet heart. Thank you for modeling gentleness and patience with your children. They are precious!

I really like both styles of videos. I like this style because you can see the random interactions (interruptions) and how you respond to them. I really look up to your parenting style and like to see that. I also like day in the life videos for this reason. The voiceovers are nice because they're very informative and I refer back to them when I'm going to make/do something you did (I used your videos for making apple scrap vinegar, thank you!). Thank you for your videos each week! God bless.
