From the extremely popular 80's anime Voltron: Defender of the Universe, ROBO-DOU Voltron joins threezero's series of collectible figures!
threezero's engineers have worked effortlessly to re-create the classic mecha Voltron in a presentation never before seen! The ROBO-DOU Voltron is designed to achieve a wider range of articulation and better combining functions than its contemporaries while maintaining the robot's iconic retro aesthetic.
Accurately recreating its on-screen appearance, ROBO-DOU Voltron is a non-scaled fully-articulated figure standing approximately 10.62 inches tall in Voltron mode with a remarkable die-cast main frame and an impressive metallic finish to highlight the details of the mecha. Voltron is composed of five Lion mecha, and is able to split into Lion mode, or combine to form Voltron. All five Lion mecha are fully-articulated figures partly adopting zinc alloy and metal parts for the movable joints!
Combined, the figure utilizes 124 points of articulation for the total of five machines, with a set of Voltron mode wepons in addition to a unique set of weapons for each Lion.

I remember Playmates also made a classic Voltron with gimmicks similar to the Legendary Defender Voltron, and they still gave us the Lion Weapons from the old and new Chogokin.

this actually looks like a nice voltron to handle and pose without worrying about chrome. That is one thing about GX-71 voltron, you have to wear gloves to keep the chrome looking shiny and from getting dull from finger prints.

I do know what you mean, Charles. The Blitzway took the great modernisation of Voltron and elevated the size, fit, and finish to a higher standard. Great content, as usual!

Despite it's light weight, I really love Threezero's Voltron. Very playable and can put it in so many different poses.

I love this version because this feels like a GREAT toy that I can play with. SOC is awesome and is very smooth but I just want to leave it displayed. I feel good playing, posing, and putting him in bot and lion mode and back again. As for the leg joints, the ball socket piece looks like it can extend all the way out to give the leg even more clearance but sometimes the leg pops off before the socket piece can extend fully. I wish I could take the leg apart to see if I fix that. Some pieces extend better than others. I did have a QC issue with me red and green lion but because I filled out the warranty form, I had no issues with Threezero. I thought they would just send me replacement legs. They sent me an extra red and green lion. So not only to I have a complete Threezero Voltron, but I have an extra red and green lion that is actually just fine in lion mode.

Man. So many Voltrons these days! That’s a good thing. So far, I’ve just stuck with my SOCs, mini-pla LV and little semi-transformable KO VV. I preordered the AT mini-action VV. That will probably be my last Voltron. But, I can certainly see the draw toward the BW and 3Z and others. I just don’t have the space for many more! Nice review! I like the posability of this one. Edit: I have some Voltron fatigue as well. Another reason I stayed away from additional premium releases is that they are just variations on the same thing. They don’t do enough different to make me want them. We need some Robeasts and new pilots…and space mice…

This figure is a great voltron. In my opinion, take any way you would like, it's a cross between Bandai soul of chogokin and blitzways voltron. Next voltron on the way is the action toys voltron.

Why are all the new voltrons copies of the gx71 with added gimmicks? Gx71 was revolutionary. Blitzway is nice but it's just a big gx71. That's my opinion. GX71 IS KING.

I think this is has the most accurate proportions and face sculpt. Blitzway is too lanky for me.
