I’m headed to the coast in a couple of weeks but I’ve started using the slip bobber rig at my local freshwater lake and have got way more action than going with straight Carolina , santee or single/double drop rigs. Thanks for the info, and o hope your enthusiasm for the fishery spreads because folks like me who only get to fish there once maybe twice a year appreciate y’alls everyday life. Thanks coop, see ya on the jetty bud.

I love the message ! As a Florida resident who is an avid saltwater angler …. The more I learn about the sport and the craft , the more and more I stretch my knowledge for our Florida fishery and how to protect it and take care of it . I also spent 1+ yrs as Park Ranger all BG the Hillsborough River here in the Tampa Bay Area and I learned that people don’t know what they don’t know and ignorance is bliss . Once I realized that I started educating our park visitors on the rules and regulations and how to look after and take care of our freshwater fishery. PS - night fishing I once saw a man kick a snook into the water after he asked if they were legal to keep and size limits …. I lost my 💩 and almost kicked him into the water . Snook if my favorite in shore fishery here in SW FL and I would’ve did it if he kicked a pin fish or ladyfish into the water . Take care of our fisheries ! One day the fishery may have to take care of you !

indeed, the insufferable ignorant😂. Or plus also the ones that do know the law but, and, or, are yet opposed anyhow, because they are thoroughly propagandized into believing that bannings are a better conservation solution than conservative conservation efforts with reasonable bag limits and such.

@77FISHALOT never in 50+ yrs of fishing and guiding where he is fishing have I ever seen a sheepshead turn down a fiddler crab. Supper easy to catch. Bury A three litter soda bottle in ground up to the top with the hole exposed in an area with lots of fiddlers. Drop in a shrimp and come back the next day to a bottle full of bait.

A lot of people don’t have respect for the fisheries. They just take and take but don’t take care of it. Then when the fish and game tighten the rules they get mad and think it’s just to make things difficult. Here in Tampa Bay they almost closed the Sunshine Skyway fishing pier because people are hooking birds and just cutting the line instead of realizing them in and unhooking them. F&G is trying really hard not to close it by education anglers on techniques to unhook the birds, but some people just don’t care.

yup the poaching makes me pissy. I stay quiet unless its very blatant
@nozrep Жыл бұрын
you can stay quiet while making a call to the local game warden. Easily pretend to call your momma or something. But yes, never approach them especially if they are doing it blatant. In my experience, fisher poachers are usually, not always, but usually also low-income folks who are also semi-gangster or semi-ghetto and are ready to physically altercate at any time. So yah defend yourself, stay away from them, and yes quietly or tacitly alert the poach hotline or call the game wardens. Enforcing existing law is good! It is NOT karening to participate in the good and right enforcement of existing laws, while also supporting the change or cancellation of stupid laws.
@winesap2 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info about people not following the rules. It's really sad but not surprising that people aren't that smart. If they can take something for free, they will. There's too many people and too many people fishing. Hopefully the people that respect you and your channel will listen to your advice. It's called tragedy of the commons and it's basically how our economy, particularly the parts of it that aren't wrapped with a price tag, works. "If I didn't do it, someone else would."
@moonchung101 Жыл бұрын
Your the best and i’m glad you brought attention to people who don’t fall the law and are malicious and complete. Do not care about our fishery. These people are selfish. They just want to take deep inside. They’re all pieces of shit and the real personality is coming out when they hurt the fish before they release it, these are people who have no empathy they would run over an animal on the road instead of stopping or weaving around it when nobody’s looking I love that you care and it shows that you have empathy you’re a good man 👍🥰

I really wish there was more enforcement on the limit of fish locally. There’s a fishing spot between Brownsville & South Padre where people always brag about taking way over the limit. They also take under and oversized fish, there’s been times where people fill up big coolers multiple times and it’s usually when theres big schools going through a small channel. It’s truly disgusting to see

@nozrep Жыл бұрын
using fresh sea water with the bubbler, and changing it out with more fresh sea water a couple more times while you fish. Also, some bubblers are just crap. There are companies that make way better ones that preserve dissolved oxygen in the water much, much, much better than the ones from Academy Outdoors store. Some guy told me about them once. But I ain’t bought one yet, because of course, a higher quality bubbler is, you guessed it, gonna be more expensive.
