Well, I screwed up again… I finally broke down and decided to give you an idea of my on the water experience as a licensed Captain and Nautical expert as a boat salesman, sailboat racer and owner of a powerboat dealership up in St. Joseph Missouri. I had been writing the post for almost two hours, and of course I blew it. Thank You for all help and especially for your excellent videos. I hope you understand how good they really are. I wished we had such access to the video equipment and locations to post them on that you are able to now. Pretty much the only videos I had taken were by the networks doing shows, features and commercials. Probably better that I didn’t post that huge comment anyway.

Hi Coop! My Dad & Mom & I spent a week down in Rockport/Port A & I saw you fishing on the packery Channel. Wanted to say hi but I didn't want to scare the fish or interpret your filming. We were having a good time until I had a medical emergency the next day. Everything is okay just resting. I told my Dad not to worry and for him to go to the jetties to fish (he worked so hard for this trip) and he went & end up catching a nice 33" redfish. We were so happy. I spent two nights at big shell a week ago and caught two 6' bull shark, one 6' black tip and a giant stingray in 30 minutes. My buddy caught pomps and we made ceviche on the spot, it was fantastic. The water clarity looked like that.

Man id love to catch a shark one day! Actually accidentally "caught" a 6 foot one in the bahamas once but i had to cut the line since it ate the bait off my small 14 pound rod and almost broke me and the rod :D

I have a cutting board on my surf trolley for cutting bait, filleting etc….sure saves the edge on the knife….I was just wondering….do you eat shark over there….down here in Victoria Australia, they are sought after table fare and comprise of large portion of the fish and chip market….they are sold as “flake”……first time seeing your videos….impressive mate.

I always seem to get whiting on shrimp bites and stingrays on cut bait. Loved the technique with the stingray barb. I usually keep a big book with me and just put it on the tail before I try to unhook them.

PS. Setting up 1st cart for this fall. DIY. Using MY DAUGHTERS OLD JOGGER STROLLER. BUCKET,net 3 rods…to start. & a few extras. Big wheels should be good on hard packs & go through fluff pretty good. Have a backup plan if not.

Lady fish are good eating Freeze them first Then when they're defrosted enough take a spoon and scrape the meat out and pick the bones out Then marinate the meat for fish pattys fire af i promise

Dude that was a brilliant idea for stingray! I would only change it by flipping it over on its back before tubing the stinger. That way if it does get loose it won't automatically get you. They can get you over the top but not under their belly. If you think about it, makes sense why would they need the flex since they normally aren't upside down. Now I've seen people stuck both ways so don't use that as a golden rule but when I take them off by hand on a boat, I keep their back up against the rail. I've seen one still manage to flip his stinger between the rail and his back and get my grandfather (a real man shrimper/oil refinery pipe fitter/welder worker for 40 years). Right through the tip of his ring finger. He still has no feeling he says it feels like a giant blister. He says, "F*** 'EM" and hits them with a hammer ever since... mind you he took off several hundred by hand since he was a kid. That was the most painful sting has even felt even worse than a diamond-back rattlesnake that was hiding behind a bag of shrimp at the dock. It bit him on the same hand. He says, don't even play with them. I still try to keep them alive and this is something going in my playbook for sure.
