Old Thrice is amazing but this is the album that made them hone their skills and mature into true musicians and brought them to the ranks of one of the best bands of this generation. So you need to respect it because without this album anything after wouldn't have been as polished and perfect as they are now.

Wow!!! One of their best performance caught on film. I wish they played BELTSVILLE CRUCIBLE live a lot, so then someone can post it on KZbin as well. Miss the old Thrice too!

Never thought he was too big, other than in the bodybuilder way... On the road all the time, raising kids... it's a brutal battle.

Listen to this through headphones. Wow! 2:42 I love it when Teppei hits the low chords. Dimarzio Super Distortion FTW!

@Alio15 Actually I'm super stoned and always seem to find myself getting In random discussions, and then when I'm sober I'm like "Wtf did I just type?" lol But as for Thrice I think all their old stuff has that too! I just feel like they were playing music they wanted and now It's more generalized so more of the public will enjoy It. But, too be be fair I'll go download the latest album now and listen, If It sticks I'll go buy It.

i like thrice way better now

@rodriguez256 Teppei recorded with a Bogner head too. I also heard somewhere that he uses a Proco Rat as a preamp boost. Pretty much any Marshall/Mesa Boogie/Bogner amp cranked up should get you there.

I miss the old intensity from Dustin and Teppei.

Me too. They were the best at around 2000

You guys are nuts, their new stuff Is fine but It will never live up to the incredible punk rock legends they made long ago.
@Alio1513 жыл бұрын
@PoLaRIV Haha, their newest album is just really different, but I still love it. And yeah, all of their stuff was all of those things, and for me, the only thing that's changed is the style. I'm still hoping the rumors are true and they're going back to their math rock roots, but Thrice has already given us three solid albums in that style, I think they just have a way of reinventing themselves before becoming stagnant
@realityorfiction13 жыл бұрын
@whereid0lsst00d eh I did not say Thrice sounded like greenday, but I should assume the likes of you would have a reading problem.

Def a Gibson Grabber. Check Wiki. They sound good too ;)

The video quality sucks but the audio is perfect
@luke20042015 жыл бұрын
Back then Teppei used a rack system with a JCM 900, a Triple Recto, and whole bunch of other expensive sh*t.
@Alio1513 жыл бұрын
@josephus1811 I don't know why the quality sucks so much. But thrice was fucking amazing live, and still is. But their shit is easier to play now...
@Alio1513 жыл бұрын
@PoLaRIV The only difference in their old music and their new music is the style it's played in... It's still insightful, meaningful, and in most cases, beautiful. The only thing he can take away from it is that it's not that heavy. And I hope you weren't keeping a straight face when you posted that ;)
@ForAllDisparity13 жыл бұрын
@Savant357 same here, dont like their new stuff...they're still good but after vheissu they changed too much.

2:25 actually
@Alio1513 жыл бұрын
@realityorfiction I'm sorry, but Thrice is still making quality music. Greenday is making bullshit. Just because it's not heavy enough for you doesn't mean it's bad...
@jasonziemba58858 жыл бұрын
realityorfiction couldn't be more wrong on his comments. This band HAS evolved, matured, and continued to push themselves even late in their career. I'd say that Dredg actually 'over-evolved'. Their last album was completely off the wall and their inactivity in recent years has to be partly attributed to the commercial failure of that record. Believe me, I tried in vain to love Chuckles and Mr. Squeezy, but it's just too far removed.

dustins choice of guitars for a while was meh... lol those SGs are garbage... but he removed one of the humbuckers... he shoulda kept his 61 reissue SG i have one and those things are gods gift to guitarists....

too bad that theres no climax of "the best" :P

@realityorfiction14 жыл бұрын
@grenadexjumpr lol im sorry but their new stuff is just... no comment. i used to love thrice and I cant stand their new stuff. I think thrice is one of the few bands that instead of "evolving" much in the sense of lets say dredg, devolved in the greenday sense.
