His ability to distil 'Biblical' ideas - ie remove the religiosity and, for want of a better word, cringiness - and come out with beautifully empathic lyrics that not only have meaning but also just sound simply fucking when sung is a gift. What I love most of all is when he takes on a character for the song to explore a fable or moral (Melting Point, Robot Soft Exorcism, Lion And the Wolf, Whaler... fuck there's hundreds) and especially when he does an antithesis viewpoint (Cold Cash, Black Honey, etc)

Every word of this song just gets more and more relevant as time goes on. In the year 2020, all the world truly is mad Edit: It’s 2021; things are getting worse. But they have to before they get better Edit: It’s September of 2022. It’s even worse than it was last year. I’m seeing and hearing things out of people that are just appalling, to say the least. But I have to remember it HAS to get worse before it gets better. Revelation 20… One day, the world will be sane again. Edit: It’s February 16th, 2024. It's a variation of The Purdie Shuffle from the '70's. Also used by Porcaro for Rosanna and Bonham for Fool in the Rain. But this guy made it his own a little bit.

I'm pretty positive Black Honey was on the radio on rock stations. And I THINK Hurricane too, but don't quote me on that. But, yes. All That's Left and TAITA were on the radio for a VERY short time. But they are one of the most underrated bands in history. Dustin is one of if not THE best song writer I've ever heard. And I pride myself in my appreciation and knowledge for music. But too many bands nowadays are too on-the-nose and cliche.
