I've always loved Teppei and Dustin's harmonies during the final chorus and the way Teppei sings slightly behind Dustin. Brilliant.

An epic ocean story.
@JorgeDiaz-nf1vr8 жыл бұрын
totally, that why I love this song. I grew up in a country side city and moved to and ocean side city as a teen. I woke up and look the sea from my window, we went to party on beaches and sailing with friends. I'm back on a concrete jungle and I miss the sea so much. I have fallen in love with it. I even have tattoos that remind me of it, there is nothing about the ocean I don't like it can be soothing and scary. you can love it but never trust it it's like the greatest metaphor for life and this song I it really is like the epic ocean story. love this band

This song made me who I am today. It helped me through so much in my world, and I am going to miss these guys a great deal. There is beauty, terror, love, and life in this song... and I can't get enough of it.

Honestly, Vheissu is their greatest album!
@ProgrammedForDamage3 жыл бұрын
My brother and I often debate this. I'd place it top spot, with Major / Minor a very, very close second. Really you can't go wrong with any of their albums.
@wilhelmfink76332 жыл бұрын
@@ProgrammedForDamage Both Vheissu and Major/Minor were divisors in Thrice's discography. Each one in his own way.

There is no album of theirs I don't love. Even their latest is still so, so good. They've only improved as musicians over time and they started with a high bar.

Hard for me to rate them because I've been following since Identity Crisis and love everything from First Impressions through Vheissu. Major/Minor was good too, ofc, but for me, I guess I would agree that Vheissu is where they peaked. Funny thing is it's the first album of theirs that I really disliked when I first bought it. I only liked "Atlantic" from that album. But I listened to the album over and over again until it finally clicked with me and I fell in love with it. One of the greatest and most overlooked bands, and by far the most impactful band for me as a teenager and as a budding musician, more than 20 years ago now.

I'm right with you dude. They're one of my favorite bands and dustin is actually really big in the ministry at his church and all of them are awesome dudes. And thats why the "Hiatus" happened because they want time for their families. That kid has no idea what hes talking about. Ignorance at it's finest.

@raineingcrystals when you're totally absorbed in music, you generally dont think things besides,,, "I will play the solo now" or.. "Solo - over, continue singing" haha. I speak from personal experience. If you're truly "into" it, you only focus on your sensations, emotions feelings, and the sounds.... you feel the deep bass vibrating your lungs, and feel the variety of high and low pitched tones as you sing.. you have to feel it, for it to sound good and be real music.

And by the way, if you read well the message left by Dustin, you would understand that it was a ''HOLD''. They will not forget their first love
@guppo2613 жыл бұрын
@PerfectDecalibration I think I have to disagree slightly. You can also think of personal experiences, certain memories, which you then put into the music and transfer the emotion.
