My entire house is done in primitives and can say that lamp would definitely work in a prim home. The base would also look good painted with certain greens and a homespun or a punched tin lampshade. Love that you turned it from a cute child's lamp to a prim looking sheep. Love it.

Hey Donna! Love your videos! You should try DIY waxes. They sell them at various flea market booths. You should try them and always put clear wax first before dark wax, that way, you have more control on the dark wax. It works like an eraser. Also, watching JamiRay vintage will teach you more painting techniques. I love how the lamp turned out!

Everything looks good! Maybe this tip will help you use the black wax until it is gone. Use a good clear wax on the piece first, ( like Jolie finishing wax) then put on your black, that will make it workable for a desired effect. Or you can take a little of the clear and the black and mix together and it will make it a one step creamy mixture with great results. I realize that has you buying another wax, but it will double your usage and give beautiful results. Even with a good black wax, this technique makes a difference, also clear wax can work as an eraser to remove some of the darker if needed. I have done this for many years. Just an idea for you, but like you say, just do you! You do a beautiful job!
