The patch shorts were a flashback to the very early 70s or late 60s, thank you, I loved them. I saw one of my aunt's friends wear very short tight ones with a tootsie roll patch, like the candy bar label and maybe some colorful gas station logo, rather 60s pop art patches. Back then shorts and pants tended to actually have some kind of cuff, I can't remember about these pants but think they had a roll up ironed cuff. I like the frayed edge on yours. The thrift haul/flips are such fun to watch, thanks. 😃

Really liking your flip projects. My favorite in this one is the long maxi gauzy dress, turn into a 2 piece. You have everything set up so nicely, where you can have an open view of the process. And it make me feel comfortable that you make mistakes. I am binge watching your videos. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.

Try a dab of fabric glue into the centre of the patch, wait an hour then stitch on. Patch won’t move when sewing this way , u won’t need pins. Glue will wash of in the wash machine

Ok, let me preface by saying I am old. I am from the days of cut jeans (yes the 80's were radical, dude). We frayed our jeans with a fork. You could get some good pressure and grip on the fibers with the fork.

Very cute. Just wondering how you got the top on and off as it's quite tight, did you make a fasten?

wait how did you do the waistband on the orange pants when you got up there?

I just sewed straight through it lol most of the time i would take the waist band off, take it in, then reattach it, but with these pants, i didn't really need to. thanks for watching!
@222aude2224 жыл бұрын
Hi! Love your video, love your thriftflips, love you !!! Omg I just want to go to the thriftshop and upcycle some good second hand stuff! Question, with an elastic waistband, you can sew along all the side ? It won't "damage" the elastic ? Thanks again you really inspire me !
@WellLoved4 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I ALWAYS want to thrift and flip haha I’m not sure exactly what you mean by along all the side? I never sewed directly on the elastic, just around the waist seams.
@222aude2224 жыл бұрын
@@WellLoved ok thanks ! Yes that was my question !
@frauschlumpf39124 жыл бұрын
If you really want to stop the raw edges from fraying try to sew the zigzag stitch closer to the edge. One of the stitches should be on the fabric and one next to it to encase it nicely. :)
@WellLoved4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip!
@MattAndImprov4 жыл бұрын
Can you use a stick to push elastic through and to stretch it while sewing?
@WellLoved4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean by pushing a stick through? I do stretch my elastic if I am sewing the elastic to the waistband, but I usually just create a casing. It lays better that way. thanks for watching!
@MattAndImprov4 жыл бұрын
I meant using something longer to push it thorough the casing, instead of massaging it through with just the safety pin.
@WellLoved4 жыл бұрын
I see, I have tried a version of that before, and honestly the safety pin is the easiest way for me
@MattAndImprov4 жыл бұрын
I've tried some kind of stick operation for if a drawstring disappears in the wash, but it doesn't work too great. Anyway, great videos

I wish you would have made the white dress just strappy, the top looks wonky, uneven edges and like these dresses are so in fashion
@WellLoved4 жыл бұрын
I actually thought about making it strappy, but this kind of fabric doesn’t hold well with small straps or sew very easily that way because of the lining. I also prefer thicker straps. I think it looks wonky because I still need to iron it 😅 but thanks for the feedback! And thanks for watching!

I liked the orange set change best: The cropping of the shirt and the shrinking of the trousers do your body a favour. About the picture patches on the shorts: If you get tired of them, you can cut them off and maybe replace them.

It would be really nice, for those of us you so, if you could slow down a little bit on taking in the excess on an armpit and a few of the more intricate stitching's that you do. Thanks. Also not all of us wear crop tops. Very talented young lady though!

Hi there! I don’t really think of these as tutorials, more of inspiration to update your old clothes and keep your closet sustainable. I may do tutorials at some point though which will definitely be slower. Not everyone may wear crop tops, but I’m making these for me, and I love a good crop top! Thank for watching!!
