now that wendy is posting less (OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE SHE IS BUSY BEING A WONDERFUL MOM..) every time she posts it’s a little treat 💖

I hope this inspires you to check out the sweater section at the thrift store! This was one of those thrift flips where I started with the inspo and then the items slowly became their own ideas... It felt so good to be back on the machine but based on the fact that Marla went from being able to support her neck near the beginning to sitting independently by the time I finished... this took way longer than I thought! Feels like I'm learning to do youtube all over again now with a baby ❤️ This month I'll be donating all youtube ad earnings to organizations providing aid in Ukraine. Take care everyone.

Hey now, I was listening to your daughter! You interrupted her amazing speech on fashion during the teething years. Think she's gonna teach a college course on the subject. She's just a bit unprepared for the English part of her class. You'll see, she's teach us all a thing or too, one day real soon. 😂😂 EDIT: As for you Ms. Wendy, you're looking particularly beautiful today. Thanks for sharing another fantastic idea with us all.😘💕 Final EDIT: That moment of wth was I doing? Aka pregnancy brain, yeah I _still_ have it... my youngest is 18 _years_ old. 😁

my mom is a writer and I have tons of memories of waking up in the mornings to the sound of the computer keyboard clacking away, and I feel like Marla is going to have a similar sense of nostalgia that I do but for the sound of your sewing machine

There's a painting channel that I actually haven't watched for a while, but used to ... can't think of the name, but the guy always paints with his baby (not baby anymore, I guess!) sitting next to him. So adorable!

You sewing with baby reminds me of how I learned how to sew. I always watched my mom doing her thing on the sewing machine and then when I got older I got the task of seam ripping when necessary or threading in the thread. Eventually I got to do more and more small and then bigger things and now I can basically do the same things my mom can. My mom had a sewing machine in one of these cupboards that fold out into a sewing table with storage room underneath and it was right behind the couch so I could just sit on the coach while watching her. Those are definitely some very special memories.

omg the knit sweater!!! I have been terrified to work with knits but seeing this tutorial makes me think I can try it! I have a whole bunch of knits that I can definitely thrift flip. Thank you for the video Wendy! I hope you're having a great dayyyyy!

When my 18 mo was born I never thought to put her in the front pack! I sewed every nap while she was itty bitty. Now I rarely sew because I'm afraid ill miss a pin on the floor. Thank you for continuing to inspire my self taught sewing hobby. My life has paralleled yours in timing of weddings, babies, etc...and it has been like having a good friend along the way. I really appreciate you!!

an idea for when you do have a little break for sewing and miss it a lot: Get yourself a big strong magnet and finish your sewing sessions with a quick magnet swipe over the area(s) you worked in. More power to all the mamas!
@pjp9383 Жыл бұрын
Seems like a lot of people are using those little clips lately - not sure how that works when going through the machine, compared to using pins, but might be able to reduce their use. Still a choking hazard though, I suppose!

sewing with knits is my enemy and i still haven’t mastered it. i struggle with the elastic or a twin needle. it’s comforting to see that even someone as experienced and talented as you doesn’t get it perfect 100% of the time.

You did so well sewing the knits! It's definitely not beginner-level sewing. Something that has totally changed my knit sewing game (as a professional seamstress) is a walking foot. If they make one for your machine I highly recommend it!
