Maybe try ironing the lace trim to flatten it? Also, thank you for inspiring me to try altering my clothes! I’ve sewn and quilted before, but I’ve never been confident enough to fix my clothes. I’m starting this weekend!

After you sew the sides do you cut the excess? Or just leave it? And if you cut it do you serge it?

I try it on to make sure it fits, then I cut off the extra :) eventually when I get a serger I’ll use that!
