70's girl here. I had a closet full of platform shoes, mini and maxi dresses, hot pants and halter tops, LOL. I remember all of us 70's guys and girls walking around high school including Tom Hanks who I went to school with. I think his hair then resembled your dad's Selena when he was young too!😄

I am 69 Graduated in 1971 and so many of the styles you duplicated were spot on.I really enjoyed this.Made my day.Howdy from Temple,Tx and God bless.I had hair almost to my waist and was tall and chubby so my Mom made my clothes so I would dress like the other kids.She made me some cool bell bottoms and all the girls wanted to know where I bought them.Something to be said for sewing Mom's mine was awesome.Thanks again and your Mom is way cool.

You took me back to the 60’s and 70’s. My era in San Francisco. Thank you for reminding me of my good times growing up. I would embroider a blue demon shirt with multiple colors of easy daisies. Collar, cuffs and down the center of the bottom holes. I did random patches on the back pockets of thin denim pants and some in the pocket area. Just a touch of the 70’s!!!! I also had to repair a big brown sack purse, where the vinyl was wearing out. I found a piece of denim and fit in place and had random embroidered easy daisies on the lining on the purse. I was soooo cool. Far out☮️. I also more tan mens Lee pants, that really hugged low on the waist and had a slight bell shape on the bottoms. My mom made me a belt out on parachute cord in a macramé design in white. It had long knotted strings at various lengths. I was so hot!!! I wore high rubber bottom shoes in a tannish leather (natural). I felt like a rock ⭐️ star. At least I lived in SF so it looked cool. ☮️💟🤡

I used to own a vintage clothing business at a vintage market. You nailed all the looks. I will say you needed polyester flares for the first look. You can’t do 70s fashion without polyester xx

Spot on! Loved seeing the pics of your parents. If I'm remembering the first blouse she had on was called a peasant top and her potato shoes were Earth shoes. It's funny how quickly the styles changed when the disco craze started. Gone were natural cottons and comfort, in were tight spandex and metallic bright colors. This was a fun video!

Oh my gosh, just like others here I am from the 70's and I loved all the outfits. My favorite was the white jeans and soft western shirt and cowboy boots. I wore one of those tops like the one with the peplum bottom except mine had a handkerchief bottom edge along with a white culotte skirt in 1977 on my first date with my husband. It was a big improvement with the elephant leg pants that were popular three years earlier when I was in high school. That summer we had hundreds of grasshoppers inside the school and outside on the lawn where we would sit after lunch. A very angry grasshopper made his way up the inside of my wide leg pants and took a chunk out of me. I never knew clothes could be so dangerous!

I liked the Embroidered top and the beautiful bellbottoms I wish she could show us how to embroider a top because I used to have a bell bottom pair of cords with tiny lines of blue and brown, and I wore a white crinkly Cottontop same when your mom did! lol - I’m about your mom’s age and remember all those styles! They didn’t sell things “ pre-worn” or “pre-embellished” then, so most of us did our own with crochet, beads, embroidery, patches, lace accents and inserts. I remember making jean skirts by cutting out the inner seams in our jeans and sewing in fabric inserts in the front and back. Add a bit of embroidery and beads, and you’re good to go!
