So, here I am - being Macklemore. Going to the thrift shop. (I can't believe I missed the opportunity to say that in this video for a pun I'm legit mad at myself lol.)
ANYWAYS, here is me answering your request to go shopping in all the best cheap & trendy thrift stores in LA! I went out to try to find some bargains and deals - and while it was a weird adventure, it was certainly a fun challenge!

What is it with all the hate. She is not a "rich spoiled brat." She has videos explaining where she gets her clothes, jewelry, accessories, etc at a very low price. The marble floors aren't real, she did them herself. Her nails and eyelashes, she does them herself. Her tan.. also done by her. She even went as far as individually gluing one tiny hair at a time onto her eyebrows to make them appear fuller and maybe even appear to be microbladed. She bleaches her own teeth. She lives in an apartment with roomates. Most of her "luxurious" items are DIY. The only thing Amber is guilty of is Slaying the world on a budget and making it look GOOD. She shouldn't be receiving any type of hate from anyone.

My tips on thrifting: • look through EVERYTHING and don't skip any sections because I have found some nice stuff in the child's section • before you buy, make sure everything is in good shape • look through all the hangers!!! • even if the black shirt section appears to have nothing special, there could be some cool band tees! • keep hand sanitizer in your bag • take your time when thrifting and maybe listen to some music through some headphones • have some photos of outfits you found and liked on your phone, you could use it for inspiration • avoid getting clothes that will need changes. if you're like me, you won't get around to it • if you're not sure if you want something, put it in your cart so someone else won't take it in case you decide to purchase it • take a friend along, they can find stuff you might like and vice versa

There seems to be a lot of hate on this particular video because it was apparently trending. Here's the deal - Amber is a bubbly person who's passion is styling and fashion, there is nothing wrong with that. She radiates positivity and happiness, she is always smiling, it's her personality, deal with it. For those assuming she's spoiled, you're clearly new considering Amber's entire channel is based on being fashionable on a tight budget because she struggled with money for a portion of her life and is just now finally getting help with that through her channel (which I want to reiterate, is all about saving money). Just because she likes designer or sparkly clothes doesn't diminish her love for something and it sure as hell doesn't give you the right to judge her as if you knew her - a passion is a passion, a career is a career. If you guys are disappointed with why this might be trending, fine. If you hate her content or her voice, fine. Tips from a weekly thrifter 1. Know the difference between vintage stores and thrift stores. Vintage stores hunts for / buys clothing from all over the wold to sell with a profit. Thrift stores usually get all their items from donating. 2. Be patient, put on a good playlist and look through every thing, when I go thrifting I use all from 1 hour to 4. 3. Look trough both men's and women's sections; since so many items get mixed up all the time. 4. The stores get new items in daily/weekly so go often. 5. Keep an open mind; a lot of clothing may look "meh" on the hanger but "STUN" on. 6. Wear a practical outfit; so you easily can try on pices easily ( even sometimes in the aisle) 7. Look trough your own closet before going so you can get an idea of what you want( and look for stuff you can donate) 8. Before buying the item ask yourself following questions - when would I wear it - do I have pieces that I can pair with this item to create a good looking outfit - is it worth the price - am I'm buying this because of the brand and not because it looks good on me 9. Have fun, always try som crazy clothing as this can teach you a lot about fashion and what works with your body( and what doesn't). 10. Look at point 2 as this is the most important; BE PATIENT!! I was a manager at Buffalo Exchange for 5 years. Wasteland, Buffalo, Crossroads, etc are not really thrift shops, those are resale shops. Totally different. Prices there are going to be higher. Also, employees get first dibs on everything at those stores, which sucks for the customers. The reason Crossroads looks so similar to Buffalo is because it's owned by the brother of Buffalo Exchange's owner.. They had a huge falling out and he started his own chain.

I've watched some of Amber's videos and from what I can see she seems like a genuinely sweet person. I mean granted she is materialistic and a bit conceited with her looks, but who isn't to some extent right? I presume all this hate stems from new people who just stumbled on her channel because it's trending. These people then begin to make negative judgments about her as a person and comment on it so easily because they're able to hide behind a screen.Yeah, maybe Amber may not be everyone's definition of a good role model, but she's human she's imperfect like you like me like everyone else. That's probably the main reason why I like her so much and what separates her from most KZbin guru's Amber does not hide the fact that she's imperfect and has quirks she just does what makes her happy. And that's really rare and beautiful to see nowadays. Instead of being so quick to judge other people and hate on them why don't we all just do the more productive thing and look at our own faults? i'm not hating but wasteland and buffalo exchange are definitely NOT thrift stores they're resale stores and that's why they charge a lot more for stuff. also a tip would be to lower your expectations because of course thrift stores won't have everything in your size and stuff may be dirty but 90% of the time you wash it and it's good as new.

Whenever I go thrifting I always keep an open mind and never go looking for specifics. It's also nice for DIYS because you can use the fabrics and make something totally different or just alter things. I might not like the dress or whatever but love the pattern or fabric so I would change it into something I love
