People forget that thrifting is a way of life for some people and not just a trend. Like yourself, I grew up thrifting, we were immigrants and I think it helped me find my own style. My Dad would give me $20 and I would stretch that $20 as much as I could which made me picky and creative. I knew what I liked , what worked for me and made me an individual. Till this day the most unique items in my closet are thrifted.

Hi Karen! Since watching your videos I went to the menswear at my local Goodwill and found a Giorgio Armani suit, the jacket was 12.95 and the pants came with it and it fits like a dream such a beautiful pattern, I did not look at the label because I was just captured by the suit itself, You helped me to pick quality clothes and how to pair patterns to create my own style! That's what I like about you; "You make your style, your own". I AGREE Karen! I also find that when one does that, their attitude goes along with their styling and that's because they BELIEVE in it! It is soooo much more flattering than when one is "trying" too hard to follow trends. Many time the clothes wear them as opposed to they, wearing the clothes.

I love thrifting!!! Some of my favorite clothes are thrifted. I just love the hunt and never know what I will find. I have been a seamstress all my life and the past few years I have remade some of the thrifted items. Some are just a tweak to get a better fit and others I just love the fabric and make something new...... That is my jam!

I decided to only thrift for clothes a few months ago. Can’t believe how easy it is to find great items. There are only a couple of pieces that I haven’t be able to find within about 3 visits. This morning I discovered that Eileen Fisher is reselling used clothes from their line online. Maybe they have been doing it for awhile, but I haven’t heard of this before. What a great thing for a designer to do.

Love the Thrift....been doing it for almost 50 years and having even more fun now! I miss the clothes from the 40's etc. that were everywhere. Found three great suits this year..the last my favourite olive/pea green with wide shoulders and pegged pants. Yippee! Heard of Thredup quite a while ago, but it was all complaints from sellers who were once paid well for quality clothing until they were getting screwed over. Haven't checked lately. Love you, Karen!
