What a great haul heath! Willow adaptation. Terry pratcherd. Cosmos! One of my favorite books and shows. Keep em coming brother.

Great haul! The Cosmos book was a nice find! I was OBSESSED with Houseboat when I was little, like age 4/5. Every time we went to the library, we checked it out. Not sure why I loved it so much at that age but it is a great movie. Your booger comment is so relatable.

“My Science Project”! I remember watching it in theaters back in the ‘80s and I aslo remember liking it. Kinda crazy story with cool VFX. Id love to see it again someday. Defiantly brought back some memories with that mention...

Very nice haul! I can never find those awesome 80s movies at the Thrift Stores here in AZ.

I've been on a DVD buying binge. I'm getting all the movies I could never afford, most charities here have DVDs for $2 each.

This might be my favourite, so far, of your haul videos! An excellent selection; Explorers! Cool World*! Kurt Russell! Though must say that you should certainly read Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett before the Amazon show drops, it is superb... * Your F This Movie! Cool World podcast is also a must listen. :)

I'm 20 pages from being done with The Colour of Magic and I like it so much that I'd like to keep going. It has that same feel of Douglas Adams and the Hitchhiker's books, and that's my jam. So I'll definitely be reading more Pratchett! Also, thanks for the Cool World podcast shout out. That was such a fun podcast for such a bizarre movie.

My Science Project is easily the most underrated 80’s movie. I’m not sure why, but if you grew up in the 80’s you’ll love this movie. Do not hesitate to watch!

Off course I've watched the full video (As always) so I guess I'm a warrior(? haha - Lots of great finds on this video!! Dind't Know you where a Carl Sagan enthusiast; Have you read his book "Contact"? I'm reading it right now, and I think its amazing and highly reccomend it. Lots of great pickups on this video. I wonder if you managed to get some pescado rabioso cds? As always, its nice to hear from you. Really apreciatte the videos from inside the store, because as i told you before, here in my country we don't have much triffstores or second hand shops were we can grab some cds or dvds at a decent price. For last, I have a question for you: Do you like Steven spielberg's films? I just can't see, to rememeber if maybe you mentioned on some of your videos. This questions comes because I heard you talinkg about the guy (whos name I cant remember) that has written some film scores; in particular one for some Jaws doccumentary or something like that. And I recently have bought a really small but nice boxset with some Steven Spielberg movies: Jp1, Jaws, Catch me if you can, Schindler's list, DOW, and E.T. Overall is small and nice designed slipcase style boxset, with nice images and each movie has his own case. It was at sale and I got it for U$ 13.30 approximattely, wich is in fact a very good price; given the fact that the price of a dvd for retail is U$ 3,50 to 5. I hope you are doing fine buddy! Keep doing the great job!! Greetings from the big country from south, Argentina.

Octavio!!! What's up, man! I haven't read Contact, but I would like to at some point. I've seen the movie! I was disappointed with the ending at the time (1997), but I think I'm okay with it now. Yes, I love Spielberg, especially everything up to (and including) Jurassic Park. After 1993, it just didn't feel quite the same. I still like some of his stuff after that, but I don't really LOVE anything he's done sine JP. That's an awesome box set that you bought! Finally, thanks for watching, I really appreciate it. Glad I can show you some of what our thrift stores are like in America. Oh, yeah! I also did find some Pescado Rabioso music and I really like it!

Glad to hear the recommendation for My Science Project! It was definitely a blind buy and I figured I'd take a shot on it. And yeah, I think the last time I saw Explorers anywhere in the wild, it was in a Walmart dump bin at least ten years or fifteen ago. It might have even been on VHS!

Nice haul I've seen a couple of Terry Pratchet adaptation. They're basically made for tv movies, but really fun. I strongly suggest them Also, you don't like Pink Floyd The Wall? You're a monster (not really), this movie is a masterpiece (yes really) Cool World, i would love a blu-ray of it, i like the movie, though it's been a while since i seen it.
@CerealAtMidnight6 жыл бұрын
I would never say that The Wall isn't good or take anything away from anyone who likes it, but yeah, I like the music but not the movie. Adam Riske and I were going to collaborate on a column about it a couple of years ago and I watched it again for the first time in years and was really surprised by my reaction. For unrelated reasons, that column never came to be.

I would love to know how you catalog your collection! I’ve been trying to figure out a good method for years now, I started with paper and pencil, tried a few apps and last landed on an Excel spreadsheet non of which were very efficient or useful. I have a good sized all-around media collection and would love your advise! ☺️
@CerealAtMidnight6 жыл бұрын
I use software from a company called Collectorz. I personally use apps on my phone (14.99 per app) to catalog all my comics and movies. All I have to do is scan the barcode. I also pay 2.50 a month for each service to store my database in a cloud that I can access and modify from my home computer. I use it every single day. The apps are called CLZ Movies and CLZ Comics. I had tried free apps over the years, but none of them were as easy or as fast as these. 15 dollars seemed like a big purchase at the time, but I’ve been really happy with my decision.

$1 for paperbacks is cheap, one charity shop here has the balls to charge $4 each... Most are $2 but one has all for $1 each here.

4 dollars for a used paperback is close to new price! In some cases, probably more that those books cost new. What the heck?

Uh, no Cool World is fun and good. It's Ralph Bakshi for Gawd's sake!
@CerealAtMidnight6 жыл бұрын
You don't have to defend Cool World. I agree that it's fun and good, or I wouldn't have bought it. But we should also acknowledge that it's tonally bonkers and that Kim Bassinger's role is less of a character and more of an animated blow up doll. I think it's a mess, but it's a lovable mess.
@GlenHallstrom6 жыл бұрын
@@CerealAtMidnight "Lovable mess." That sums up Ralph Bakshi quite nicely. :D

Hey Heath, IMO Showboat is just terrible, I am a huge Cary Grant Fan and Sophia Loren is actually one of the most beautiful women who have ever lived but I can't watch this movie. Unfortunately, the writer, director or producer decided that Sophia acting or being beautiful wasn't enough so they make her sing, the same song over and over and over. I didn't think it was possible to turn off a movie with Sophia but this one did it! My advice watch the movie with the mute button on! Cheers, Shawn
@Flapperdame165 жыл бұрын
Yeah- I attempted this one and what happened was Cary and Sophia started an affair on the set of the Pride and the Passion- Cary setup another film for them to be in (Houseboat) and then she left him to accept her now (deceased) husband's proposal. They then were left to film this movie together.
