I remember my sister went to Hawaii about a year ago and she described the kind of thrift store you just described. every hour or so the items get changed out. while the same store in the main land aren't like that, not the ones I've seen anyway. I love your bead hauls. it makes me feel sane, haha, as I have many beads as well. and i too but strands of scrap beads it broken jewelry for the beads. I've bought blouses, if under a dollar, just for the buttons. I've taken apart a belt and made a necklace earring and bracelet sets. once, a guy came up to my booth and asked about the spare metals bits from what I didn't use in a jewelry set I made. I made it very affordable because I had already used up 80% of it. he then starts telling me he re-uses the bits in artsy creations. aaaah! that was very inspiring. Little did he know the origin of what used to be a belt. haha

That's a great story Rozy roan. It is amazing the things that have beads on it. I have gotten beads off of lamp shades, wall decor, candle holders, pillows, swim suit coverups, skirts, shirts, shoes, hats, belts, dresses and picture fames. There is probably more but these are the things I thought of off the top of my head.

beadifulnights yes, eyes always peeled on what can be used as a canvas or beads, 😀. thank you for all your beautiful creations and sharing your designs. I've made a few of the beaded bottles, made a loom and made bracelets. I have my eye on those large rings now. 😀

That was fun. The watch is abalone shell. I dearly loved the belt buckle. I wouldn't change it. My suggestion would be to make a closure flap for the purse and use the buckle like a clasp. That coconut shell purse took a great deal of work to make it. You grabbed some awesome stuff. Like I said, that was a fun video. Thank you for sharing.

I took the lampwork beads and different color wire and wrapped them onto skewers I bought from the $ store and made plant/garden pokes. They would even make bookmarks if the skewer was long enough.

Alesha, that was so awesome. I absolutely love shopping 2nd hand or 3rd or whatever lol. I would love it If you would do more videos. Also maybe we could start some type of trade site where we could trade beads since all of us live in different places. I would also love to know what the value of the items are so I can keep an eye out.

Hi! New subscriber, well kind of, been subscribed for awhile, love your hauls! In this video you were trying to think of what you can do with your lamp work beads, well I'll tell you what I do with mine(the smaller-medium sized ones), I mix them all together in jars, well separated by colour of course, then when I'm not feeling very creative, I'll take some tiger wire (there's lots of names for this wire but that's what I call it) then I'll pour out some on my beading mat and just scoop them up onto my wire until I have maybe 12-24 inches then I'll crimp the ends together and now I have a wrap around necklace, no clasp required :) or you can take bracelet memory wire and do the same thing :)

You should do a video of how you recycle the things you take apart and possibly show how you take the beads off of a bag or clothing. I've thought about it but I always get intimidated when it comes doing it.

maybe on that belt buckle for the purse, cut the leather off at the hinge , leave the hinge on,and sew it on. Keep the hook part on and then u can sew round it and stableize it........just a thought :)

a suggestion for your lampwork beads, If you watch certain historical TV series like ROME, they wore a lot of wire and lampwork beads of different colours and styles. you could take wire and make "caged" beads and necklaces from them, or i use them as lamp pulls.Or Just simple necklaces of links made with the beads and maybe some pearls to pull it together, But i would watch historical shows especially ROman, Mesopatamian, Greek, Etc.for inspiration. THe history channel is froth with ideas!

I watched a video, where a lady took a coconut purse like the one you have and turned it into a journal, she cut down the sides, and used it like the cover for her book. I know you don't want to cut that one, but maybe someone watching this has a broken one that they are trying to figure out what to do with it.
