Wonderful haul, so fun to watch and hear the joy in your voice. Mahalo for sharing these great finds. I love those fabric quilt blocks, looks like a log cabin pattern. Fun, fun, fun. I can’t wait to see you in action.

I love the thrill of the hunt! Those padded quilt blocks-I think I would cut them in strips along the quilting rows and use the snippets of fabric for tag pulls, sewn on trims, etc. Have fun with your treasures!

Great deal on the quilt squares. I often find them at estate sales but many of them want anywhere from $1 to $3 EACH for the size you have. We had that Christmas Carol book, too. I would love to find one. Brings back a lot of memories.

I love that pillowcase with the long swag of flowers on it, that would be cute as the fabric base of a journal with the embroidery along the top. If the pillowcase is stained or torn you could cover it with other fabric or laces. Love all of the books, especially the Sears and Roebuck, joy! joy!

Wow you found some really good stuff!!! I just bought"The Hollywood Musical" A picture Quiz Book By Stanley Appelbaum. It's black in white pictures of Al Jolson,Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly.... and so on. This book is FULL of great musicals scenes. I paid $1.00!!! I'm going to keep my eyes open for those Golden Books. I very rarely go into the children section. Anyway I'll end my book here. :-) Have a great day Ms.Gayle!!! ~Liz~

The thick squares with batting would be good pot holders. I’ve made some that way. Just add seam binding around the edge. ☺️

Our bags for books are $AU10 a bag where I am !!🤣. Once again great prices our thrift stores ( called second hand shops ) are getting more and more expensive which is a shame . Have a lovely weekend , hugs from the land of Oz.

Good finds, Gayle! I love the Alice and Jerry books. Sometimes I see them for up to $12!! (I don't pay that much!). I've been lucky enough to get a couple for $1 each, and I also paid $3 or $4 for some. And, when I was a teenager, we had that Christmas song book, and I used to play the songs on our old upright piano while my family sang at Christmastime! Too bad we didn't keep that book! Enjoy creating with your bounty!! Hugs

I usually go to the thrift store and there are lots of awesome treasures to find. What do you mean by copyright images? Date? Could you explain? Thank you 😊
@gayleagostinelli_ct7 жыл бұрын
Hi Maggy! The copyright is when the book was published. So I always look for the old ones! Hope that answers your question! Thanks for watching!!

Hi Gayle, I've been following you for a while now and I love watching your creative process. I occasionally watch people's thrift store haul videos, but I think I live in the wrong part of the country. No such prices here! I have a question for you, though. Have you figured out the copyright laws for scrapbooking? I have read that you can use an image or 2 from a copyrighted book but also that you can absolutely not use any copyrighted material in things you sell. I've read that copyright expires after 100 years, but also after the author's death plus 50 years. You've been doing this a long time, and you mention that you'll use these books from the 1960s and 70s. I am beyond confused. Can you explain it once and for all? Thanks, Barbara, Austin, Texas
