Today I help my Mom set up her new Lull mattress in her bedroom and we talk a new design incorporating more vibrant colors into her space. I score two awesome large vintage inspired framed botanical prints at Goodwill that fit perfectly into our Victorian kitchen. Cabin on the Cape is surely coming along nicely. We are beginning to work on the garden and landscaping by incorporating native plants. I give a sneak peek at what is to come in future episodes from kitchen countertops, woodstove and my first attempt at plumbing!

I love all your videos, but as a collector of vintage glass.I would never put it in the dishwasher. It causes it to be cloudy, and it can cause it to crack.Just put a little vinegar and water on it.And if that doesn't work, use a couple of denture taps. I love your mom and dad.They are so cute. ❤❤

I always use cheap denture tablets. They are great for cleaning fine jewelry, too. Only thing that is gentle and will get any crud off your diamonds or semi-precious stones- rubies, sapphires and emeralds. 😊

Vinegar is acidic, I just use good ol hit water and dish soap. Rinse with a little rubbing alcohol water, And dry with a cotton towel.

Funny story with my dad when my mum would buy a new dress that she thought she paid a bit more than she should’ve or she shouldn’t buy another new dress. She’d hang it on the wardrobe door so when she wore it dad would say you’re not going to wear that old dress are you? It worked every time he never noticed any of the new dresses🤣

I love and appreciate the work in those appliquéd linens. I’d love to have the one with the yellow pansies. Maybe I’ll make one. My sewing machine will do it, but I only sew straight lines. Ha. It was my mom’s fancy machine. She was the seamstress. My everyday dishes when I got married were melmac. They had a white background with yellow, gold and orange shades. Kind of wish I still had them. I did keep the platter so that’s over 50 years old. I think I still have it. Some of the pieces were solid colored and others patterned. I think they may have had a flower design, but I’m not sure. The pastel cats are fun. Punched metal trinket box. Phlox is a creeper so keep your eyes peeled.

Idea for you...I volunteer at a thrift store and many people come in and buy art that is already framed and matted. They don't want the artwork--they can buy the art at the store for sometimes $10-$15 for the frame and matting and just switch out the art in the frame with their choice. Cuts your costs greatly.
