Home decorating can be easy and fun! Today my mom and I share our bedroom designs, both very different from one another! We both love to shop at estate sales, thrift stores, goodwill and second hand stores for vintage and antique items to decorate our home with. My personal style leans more towards romantic Victorian style, while Mom loves deep dark colors and unique carved masks with a tropical design.

I remember when you and your mom thrifted the palm tree pictures, and they were meant to be your moms….they are perfect in her bedroom. I was married in 71 and our first bedspread was gold velvet…. Your taste and your moms taste is literally night and day, but both bedrooms are perfect for u both

I've decorated and almost my entire home from thrift stores The couches I bought that are black velvet I bought at a furniture store but every accessory table item around it is thrift store I reupholstered chairs that I found and they're beautiful now belongs in a magazine that's how awesome it is

I so love that Mom cave! It’s kind of the effect of when it’s dark and rainy and your bedroom is so cozy to curl up in and listen to the elements outside. It’s such a soothing, relaxing feeling. The bed is amazing, the masks…a little scary. They would be watching me all the time and the the fertility mask would definitely have to go to a different room. Can’t wait to see the mural you put up and I wish we could get a tour of the new house. My favorite piece of decor is Mr. Sherman. His face, that stare when you were filming your Mom Selena was such a crack up. I truly love watching you two always enjoying your time together.

Your Mom's room is so cool. The way you filmed the intro and music was perfect. Kinda like setting a scene in a movie😉. Your room has always been romantic and I love how you've arranged the wall art in both rooms! Don't know about you, but I'm dreading daylight savings time. It's already getting dark by 7! On the shade frame, you guys are braver than me. I'd had thrown it all away. Once I bought a piece of pottery and when I opened the box all these cricket type bugs started jumping out. This was really enjoyable ladies. And yes, what a contrast in style between you two. I enjoyed the ad as well, you made it really interesting Serena. Love the dog's two different colour eyes too! I have one green, one blue - so pretty cool! Love the history behind each purchase and the mystery story of '73 was very intriguing. That moose head would for sure have been scary under the door - just seeing one eye ball staring back at you. 🤣You accomplished alot in one week! I like the new bedroom MUCH more than the previous one. This one feels very cohesive and calming. The masks, because of the way they're hung on the dark wall feel like they belong with all the other elements in the room. Glad you went with the dark ceiling too. The lighting gives the new room a warm and cozy vibe. I thought the jungle mural in the old bedroom made the room feel agitated. It would have disturbed my sleep having that busy print and all those creatures peeking out from the foliage. I don't think the new room needs anything else. It looks great!

I remember years ago I came home after work and my son and daughter painted (without asking me) his bedroom in dark navy blue, walls and ceiling. I was so upset, all I could think of was how can I repaint a dark color like that. But, to my amazement I now love that room and will never change it and it's over 15 years ago. I repainted everything in the house and I leave that room alone. I feel like when I am in that room like I'm in a cocoon. So relaxing, I feel cozy in that room. Love dark colors!
