Hello everyone, my name is Julie and on Thrilled Thrifter you will find that I absolutely love thrift shopping.(Especially for home decor!) I share all things thrift here on my channel to teach you how to go thrifting for your home, family and friends. {I'm not a reseller!} I mostly thrift at Goodwill, yard/garage sales, FB marketplace, antique stores, estate sales and so many other local thrift stores. I believe you can make your home beautiful on a thrifty budget! I love using large trays like that in my house. They help wrangle art/craft projects, Lego builds, puzzles, baking projects, potting flowers, and are so easy to wipe down and clean! 🎄

The tray you got was the same color I used to eat out of when I was little, a divided plate. Good idea using it for making bread. You seen 3 cheese crocks and now I don't see any. I have 1 I sit in my window with seasonal flower pics. I love how rustic they look. Great video. ❤

Good evening Julie. After cleaning the refrigerator and having my husband put the items back like I wanted. I continue cleaning the inside of the drawers. I am resting watching your video. I love all the little crocks pots for $2.99 each.I also love the bowl with the duck in the front $3.99. The cups are adorable. Nice items you purchased. I am glad you bought the Sourdough Crock pot. Yep, they are cafeteria trays. When my dad worked for Hanes, they had a cafeteria. When they closed it down, they sold the trays and dishes. Dad brought home 4 of their trays and some little bowls for us to use. We used to eat in front of the TV. I still have one, and so do my parents. The globe has all to do with the names of some countries and the changes of their names over the years.

ON THE GLOBE THE OLD ONES HAVE COUNTRIES THAT ARE NO LONGER NAMED THAT. HOPE I SAID IT CORRECTLY. I FOUND ONE YRS AGO WHEN MY FORMER NEIGHBORS MOVED. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. MY BROTHER LOL TOLD ME IT WOULD CONFUSE MY KIDS BECAUSE PLACES AREN'T THE SAME NOW AS ON THE GLOBE - WE HAD A GOOD LAUGH

Look for East and West Germany. that happened after World War II. Also Myanmar, north of thailand use to be called Burma. There are many more which you can just look up online and find websites that give list of countries that change names and when it happened

Julie I’ve found that you can find sourdough starter that people have on marketplace for sale- one lady had a starter that her great-grandmother started over 100 years ago!

I like to get old silverware boxes and paint them and decoupage the tops. I use them for jewelry cause they can prevent tarnishing. I've given some to friends.

Hi Julie! I loved the little crock; I pick them up when I can find them at a good price. Our GW prices anything like that about $6.99… 🤷🏻‍♀️ I love that you reunite sets of dishes, too! I sometimes wonder if GW has a streak of “mean”.. separating pairs, putting the tag right over the markers mark, or right in the middle of an art piece🤷🏻‍♀️of course, thst never stops me from going back there🤗 Thanks for taking us along!♥️🎄

Sourdough is a lot of fun! Once you establish your starter you can put it in the fridge. I feed mine every 3 weeks but I’ve definitely gone longer. 😅

Good morning Julie! I still haven't caught up, but I'm gonna try to go back & catch some older ones today! If these grandbabies will let me loll😄 I like the old silverware boxes too. I love anything old & made of wood. Some newer pieces too, I'll just make them look old😉 I collect old lamps, so i always have to ck them out too! Hahaha😂 That was hilarious when you said that looked like your roosters tail feathers on that shade! The shade itself could have been pretty, without those feathers! That was way Too much!😬 Julie, if you google antique globes you'll find all the info you'll need! I paused & went to look & it tells how to find out & the differences between antique, vintage & newer ones.. just scroll down to the question section. I know one way it said was to fund the manufacturer & when they were in operation. Hope that helps & you find one that you love!😊 I loved the book ends! Your right, you hardly ever find a set! I have 2 different ones i use one on one shelf & the other on another shelf.. actually 2 different pieces of furniture all together. They're both pretty pieces, so I just want to use them! I actually have a little house that looks like those bookends that would be pretty together on a shelf! I love the tartan plaid throws and scarfs! They're pretty to use most anywhere at Christmas! Over A couch or chair, on a peg hook, or in a basket or on a bench. I have lots of old wood side chairs i can lay them in or hang over the back. Just adds that pretty Christmas touch.😊 Love the little sourdough crock! I pick them up when i run across them too. Great idea with the tray! Enjoyed the video! I pray you have a blessed weekend!🙏🏻😊

OK HERE IS HOW.. Dating a Globe The first thing I look for in a globe is its age. The older, the better. The easiest way to tell the age of a globe is by the countries on the globe. Here’s my 5-point checklist to be sure the globe is vintage (20 years or older): USSR - If the globe includes Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), you know it is from 1990 or earlier. Vietnam - If the globe shows Vietnam versus North Vietnam and South Vietnam, you know it is from 1976 or later (Vietnam is south of China). Keep in mind however, that Vietnam divided into North and South Vietnam in 1954, so you might have to use the other countries on this checklist to be sure of the age. Zambia - If the globe shows Zambia versus Northern Rhodesia, you know it is from 1964 or later (Zambia / Northern Rhodesia is in south central Africa). Ghana - If the globe shows Ghana versus Ashanti and/or Gold Coast, you know it is from 1957 or later (Ghana / Ashanti is in north Africa, north of the equator) Korea - If the globe shows Korea versus Chosen (Japan), you know it is from 1945 or later.

When you are using the tray for bread making, put a piece of that mesh rubberized carpet keeper so the tray won’t go flying around.

On the globes, look at Asia. If they have Burma, they are from the 80’s or earlier. If they have Siam, they are from the 30’s or earlier. You could also look in Europe for the USSR or Czechoslovakia. There are other buy those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I enjoy your videos. I watch them all the time. But it would be very hard for me to thrift at a Goodwill that has things on top of shelves. I can’t reach that high so that would be a big problem for me merry Christmas and happy new year and have a blessed holiday with your family.

Sometimes when people donate there will be lots of boxes. Perhaps the leftovers from a yard sale. These pile up in the thrift stores warehouse and get randomly put out. There could be days between when that persons donations get unpacked and put out.

One way you might be able to determine the age of a globe is to see what countries are included on the globe. For example,if the USSR is on it, you would know that the globe is 1920s through 1990.

Mine too. It was cheaper for me to go to Michaels and purchase a small Christmas tree on sale then it was to purchase one at Goodwill that was in bad shape.

You can age a globe by the countries that no longer exist being on it. Asia and Africa being the continents with the greatest amount of historical changes in countries.
