You found AMAZING items at thrift stores. I don’t know where you live to get books 📚 for 25¢, but I’m in a major city and the books *start* at $2.99. 😫 I’m doing an Edgar Allen Poe/spooky library theme this year. I’ve been thrifting for Halloween all summer.

I LOVE Edgar Allan Poe, that will be such a great theme! Thank you! I actually find most of my stuff at garage sales and a few items here and there thrifting but I’ve been collecting a long time. This thrift store is the only one that does books for .25 it’s amazing! Goodwill prices are never very good these days. 🥴

I made one of my bedrooms into a Library. I love your idea of a Poe library. Good luck. I turned my whole house into a Theme House. I do have several Poe Leather Hardbound books I got at Barnes & Noble but they werent 25 cents but $25. I wish you luck on your project.

I work at a thrift store and after reading the comments, I sure wish we had you ladies in our customer base! I process the "miscellaneous" items and it's heartbreaking that so much has to be discarded or tossed into the recycle bins because they don't sell. I do the sorting, cleaning and pricing, and everything is definitely priced to sell. It's just that we don't have customers who are interested in the merchandise!

I have the exact same candelabra that u used rub n buff on. I thrifted it and it's still a pewter and I may rub n buff it or spray it a matte black. I love black details with some gold or silvers too. I also have a super similar silver bowl to the one u showed!! New subbie here!

I love this. This has become my aesthetic for Halloween since my daughter grew up and moved out. I always leaned towards using vintage items but mixed with fun items for kids. When she got her own home I gave her all except my two life sized skeletons and vintage items. Even christmas moved to vintage items. Themed with vintage toys. Oh those brass items. My mother has an extensive collection that she hates but won't let me have yet since they are still part of her decor. One day I'll convince her. And this is only my second video but I subscribed so quickly. I loved your relaxed vibes and aesthetic for decorating. I stopped watching these types of channels because they weren't my style. I'm so glad to have found your channel. I love seeing what other people do with their homes. I just wanted to find something that was going to offer ideas that were useful to me. I am the only one who enjoys vintage items i know. I like knowing that someone owned and enjoyed them prior to me. Now I'm off to Bing your videos. Just wanted to show a little appreciation.

Oh, I wouldn't have judged you about the silverware... I was more concerned, really. It's good to know you don't use it. I dunno that soap and water washing would remove tarnish but I also dunno whether there's any issue with using washed but tarnished utensils. I will say... if you want the stuff to look like it did back in the day... they would've cleaned it. So there's that. I think the bowl looks cool being silver inside and tarnished outside.
