Dark Academia Witch Halloween Decor Haul | Vintage, Antique & thrift finds | Cottagecore 2024

Hey Pumpkin People! Today I am sharing vintage/antique decor that I've been picking up from garage sales, flea markets, thrift stores & my antique mall! Some of these things are for my house, others are for the volunteer halloween event that I decorate for called Eerie Manor. I hope you will enjoy my thrifty finds & thanks for watching!

The portraits are fabulous. My parents have family portraits of my paternal great great grandparents and another one of my great great great grandfather 🖤 It’s really sad that no one else wanted them so my parents jumped up and saved them from being discarded. They have been in my parents home ever since I can remember…I’m 53 now and will make sure I keep them in our family as long as I can 🖤

That's awesome you have family portraits that old! I wish we did. It's nice to keep heirlooms like that around for future generations. Not everyone will appreciate it at every phase of their life, but I think we all eventually crave some type of nostalgia and connection to our family members before us.

Kristen, I love the haul. The metal eyeball thing is for making meatballs. The hole in the top lets the meat out if too much is in it. The bucket is a coal or hot ash bucket. The grass cutter is a sickle. Like saying pickle but with an S. My grandmother had all those things. Can't wait until the next video. Have a great day!!❤

Witch boots by far was the fav piece. I would recommend planting sage in your garden and then cutting it come the end of summer and hanging a huge bunch upside down to dry. You can grow any herbs and do the same thing such as mint

Huge fan of Sleepy Hollow series. Anything you can find to fit the colonial esthetic would work. It is the style I always gravitate towards for fall and Halloween. Some may call it primitive or country, but that tends have a lot of yellow oak in it, which nobody misses that part of the 80s and 90s lol

The boots could have belonged to my grandmother 😂 I'm 71 and she was in LA before the turn of the century..graduated high school in 1906. My Great grandfather was a commercial photographer in LA before the turn of the century so how funny (&erie! ) that he may have taken any one of those portraits! I totally agree they do look like witchy women lol I think you did great with everything in your haul! This was so fun to watch! 🖤🧡🖤🧡

Kristin, I too use those old spooky, witchy, photos but they are actually my real family. Lol. U had me laughing so hard. Love u more every year. That bucket is called a coal scuttle. U can use it to bring coal to the fire or take the ashes away. Love ur haul!

So much fun, gives me dark academia meets witchy vibes. I’ve seen those old cabinet cards already made up like how you shared in a screen shot at antique malls , they are so fun. I recently found an original oil paint on stretch canvas portrait from around 1890-1910 with the frame attached, $150 I had to grab it. While the portrait will be up yearly as I’m a purist when it comes to antiques, I’ll definitely add some cobwebs for Halloween. I want to say that bucket was for coal

@@harvestandholly yes! I found a Fenton brand small vase. It's hobnail style and it's cranberry colored. Also a cocoa pot with a gold dragon. I ship antique stores for decor. I go to hobby lobby and michaels for the flowers, garlands, wreaths and pumpkins, but most other stuff I go to my local shops. 😁

I do a more modern witchy theme. But 1 of my best pieces is the Threshold Metal Cauldron from Target. Its thicker metal, huge for the price ($35‐40) and doesnt have any cheesey words/pictures like the ones from homegoods! Although it might be to modern for the Manor display

Just wanted to tell you that the one bucket that pointed to one side is a coal bucket. When I was a little girl my grandparents had a coal stove and brought up the coal bucket with coal in it .

Hey Kristen, I cracked up cause Jose did better than I did 😂 yesterday I bought some Christmas tins from goodwill and the original price was 1.00 from Michael’s and goodwill had them marked at 1.49 but at least we got them for half off 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣.

She decorates with the Vintage Witch Cottage Decor with thrifted vintage pieces! I think would be really helpful if you have not come across her channel! I’m so excited. 💀🎃👻🍂 also, I have used the tan colored Spanish moss, cloches, faux large, small crows, branches… melted cream/black drippy candles.. vintage keys, candle holder (hobby lobby has some good vintage looking items!
