I am a first timer, and I really enjoyed it. You’re not over enthusiastic for all the small critters. You don’t overrate things and you know a lot about porcelain and pottery, I think. I’ll be watching you. Oh, that sounds a little creepy, but it is well meant!(you have to excuse my English, because actually, I’m Swedish, and have a bad memory for words!

Thank you, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I'm not an "expert" on anything and certainly will never claim to be. But I enjoy history and treasures from our past, and I'm constantly learning!! ❤️❤️

I'm so glad you got the chicken, it was adorable

I figured out who made it! Max Hindt, produced approx 1970's - 80's. So cute, but dang it's heavy!!

Stopped my heart with the cat figure! So cute. So fun! And the Ken Edwards is great and he passed away recently. So definitely a good pick up!!

I hadn't heard that he passed away! I love his style of pottery! Definitely one of my favorites!!

That cherry blossom bowl was a good find. Same goes for the Stangl pottery if ne sells as a mixed set or collection. The issue with Stangl is it's fragility and tendency to crack. It's certainly beautiful.
@PiecesOfThePastKC84Ай бұрын
Definitely!! I really like Stangl! Lots of cool and pretty patterns! But you're exactly right!! I did check over some of the pieces and thought about picking up a few, like the creamer and gravy boat. But several of them had crazing, so I gave up searching through them. It was very pretty though!!

I was kind of surprised that they were made by Sango!! They tend to make quality pieces and I've got some of their soup mugs in my kitchen!! But those plates were just dang cool!!

Oh my gosh, ok... The incised signature on the inside was kind of hard to make out, so I used Google lens when I got it home ~ it's made by Max Hindt, approx 1980's. I think it's stinking adorable!!

Im surprised by the lack of OLD items in Goodwill, especially pottery and glass. There does seem to be some later 60s-70s vintage items but there are no must-haves. The store is very well stocked and prices are reasonable, for certain. The shelves are so packed with merchandise that it seems difficult to shop.....stuff is just placed anywhere with sets separated which makes for some frustration.

I've found some true "antiques" there, but you're very correct! It tends to be mostly 60's and up in age. I tend to have much better luck finding cool antiques through estate sales!!

I’m surprised you didn’t know the tonala!
@PiecesOfThePastKC84Ай бұрын
Oh I did!! Just having one of those brain fart kind of days!! But I can typically spot Tonala an aisle away, lol!!

The wooden figures have a dot on their forehead, I think they are from India. Maybe a wedding couple.
@PiecesOfThePastKC84Ай бұрын
That would make sense!! I wonder if they were part of a set??

I saw you missed a kewpie...was it in bad condition? I collect those.
@PiecesOfThePastKC8414 күн бұрын
I had to go back and see what flipping Kewpie I missed!! I found what you're talking about, and sadly yes, his little hand I think was broken. Otherwise, assuming I saw him while in the store, I'll always pick up the Kewpies!! I found a vintage (I think 1970's) Kewpie plate recently in perfect condition and picked it up. It doesn't have a super high resale value, but I thought it was too dang cute to not pick up!!

Why do you show info on the items instead of comps?
@PiecesOfThePastKC8427 күн бұрын
Occasionally I'm unable to find a recent "sold comp", but I'll still try to give a little info on the item.
