Hi Margo, I enjoy your videos and style. Can I make a suggestion? When you are panning at the thrift stores, pan slower. Many people like looking at the shelves and when you go too fast it can make people feel sick. I think your home is beautiful! You have a really good eye for thrifting.

I like to thrift those jaws with the metal closing. For match holder you can cut the striker off match box and glue to bottom.

If you want to get the discoloration out of the platter, use 1/4 cup bleach to 1 1/2 cup water. Pour it into the bowl of the platter and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes. No scrubbing. Pour out water solution, wash as usual. This is also good for plates that get the grayish marks from knives cutting meat or whatever

Hi Margo, my mother had a few of the pie plates with recipe on the bottom during the mid to late 70s. Totally reminds me of my childhood😊 lol. I've never seen any during my thrifting but I'd love to get some. Thanks for sharing. ❤

Margo, you can Google Ball jars and there’s a graph that shows the different B’s in Ball that will tell you years they actually produced the jars with that particular B. You can also use Google Lens to date the Atlas Mason and Ball jars as well.

Those pie plates with recipes on them, came out in early 1960s and homemaker Moms loved to make the recipes...they showed up at church socials too.

My mom painted a cake stand with the cover and it was painted to look like a strawberry shortcake. She still has it. I love it! ❤

I think Gooseberry Patch sold those pie plates in the 90s. They had a catalog store to order from. You can still find their cookbooks they published in thrift stores too.

Every Goodwill on utube seems like a real store. My Goodwill is the real Goodwill! Lots of cheap clothing, good clothing only in size 2, mostly clear glass and made in China coffee cups with an advertisement for the local plumber. Anything good is chipped and cracked! I should video my Goodwill and then everyone would be happy not to have to search through the bins displayed on shelves and hangers.

Be very careful with any plates, platters or bowls that are crazed like your platter. It is best not to use them to serve food on because they can harbor bacteria. .............Tammy
