I grew up in Mercer county. We lived next door to an Amish couple. The husband was a farm hand for our neighbor. I also had Amish friends who were schoolmates.

Had the same baby food grinder with my oldest son who is now 34yo. It was a hand me down from a cousin that is now 40! Definitely been a tried and true item.

Love that you thrift shop.....I have found so many "treasures" and great way to "recycle" clothes. Great score on the food mill. I rarely bought "baby" food for my son. I was able to use a food mill for just about everything and my blender for the rest. That way there were no additives or excess salt.

Oh yes, the baby food grinder! Used it on our 3rd. child, way back in the early 70's. Never bought baby food for him like we did for our girls. Glad to see they still have them. Whatever the family had for the meal, he had the same!

I used the baby grinder back in the 70s and would use extra veggies and fruits from my table. I put portions in ice trays and froze them .

I used the Happy Baby food grinder for all 3 of my kids, and never had to buy baby food. I found that, except for meat, I didn't even need to turn the grinder. Just load the food and push down, the food squishes up through the mesh. Super fast and easy!

Thank you so much for showing the scenery and where you were driving. My sisters and our parents used to go and spend the night and have such a fun time. My dad has passed away and my mom has dementia and is living in a nursing home now. We haven't been in quite a few years. It was so good to see you driving away from Berlin, because it all looked so familiar. We always went thrift shopping while we were visiting.

That's so funny, we were just at Harvest Thrift not but 2 weeks ago. While we went down to pick strawberries at the Harvest Barn. I enjoyed learning of the various fabric stores in your other video. We get fabric from Zinck's usually. I'm looking forward to exploring these other places. It's a treat for us to stop at the Amish Cafe (big maple glazed donuts and coffee!), Swiss Bulk Foods, and the thrift stores.
