I feel like we're very lucky here in Colorado, all of the bins I've been to are so chill and laid-back. I've even had other shoppers overhear the kind of things I'm searching for and tell me when they find items that fit the bill, which has been super nice. All around just friendly experiences

I use to go early to go to my local bins but it’s waaayyy too chaotic and I get overwhelmed. Now i just go in the late afternoons a couple hours before they close and I have a way better time. It's weird that she thinks all paper tags that say made in the U.S.A actually means this. There are sweatshops in the U.S. and it doesn't mean the materials,the dyes,the thread, appliques etc are all made in the U.S. The design and construction could have been in the U.S. But with overseas materials added.

I know that the materials that make up the items can be imported from other countries and that it’s just assembled or put together in the US. But, when I find paper tags I’m more happy that it’s vintage. Not that it’s actually made im the states. Fashion in the 90s-00s is the inspo for a lot of modern clothing so I rather have the blueprint. Hope this makes sense!✨

@@twinelle ah maybe that's a good topic to discuss while making your next garment. However unfortunately most y2k items have designs that existed already,for example baby tees were very popular in the 60's up into the early 80's. Flares or bell bottoms made an appearance rolled up in the 40's and 50's. But really were noted in the 60's 70's and 80's. They died out and came back in the 90's and early 2000's. Died out again for skinnier and have made their way back. Look at fashion from studio 54 a very famous club in the 70's. Wearing lingerie was popular during the 90's grunge days. Im just saying this because I lived through the 90's and wore sunflower baby tees with huge bellbottoms and have a picture of my mom in the 60's/70's wearing a very similar outfit. Fashion trends cycle as you know. But maybe being armed with the knowledge of the right history/time frames will help. Best movie for clips of 70's fashion I think is Dazed and Confused. Really great to pull ideas from.
