I totally relate to the anti-velvet thing! Also that green sweater is great on you! You seemed so happy in it. 😊

The red blazer looked amazing on you if you ever do decide to get into blazers!

When Michael Met Mina mase me think it was an expansion novel, based on the characters Michael and Mina in David Almond's fantastic novel for Young people 'Skellig". I taught the book the Year7 classes for over 15 years and loved teaching it. Magic realism done so well. The character, Michael is inquisitive, concerned about the world around him, is a helper by nature but also a complex character struggling to find his way through pain. I loved it so much, I called son Michael ❤ Alas your Michael and Mina are different 😂❤🎉

(Un)Fun fact: There are no change rooms anymore in the big chain thrift store in my area of Canada! They shut them during peak COVID and took them out of the stores. It means you have to try everything on in the aisle in front of a mirror. Your video made me nostalgic for the "good old days"!

Same thing in Northern California where I live. No changing rooms and much higher prices.

@@gwhitcom oh I have heard about that! I would haaaate not having change rooms, I’m so sorry you all have to thrift like that! 😭

Yesss, I'm in Canada too. My usual thrifts are value Village and goodwill. Only goodwill has changerooms, none in value anymore 😭

I don’t even live in naarm but I’ve definitely had some memorable visits to that savers, especially the book section! Last time I found the massive Sheila Heti edited anthology “Women in clothes” for a few dollars. Can’t even imagine what it would have costed new

The green sweater is soo good! And I am really jealous that you found such nice Docs that fit you so well

I know! I’m a little in shock myself! 😅❤️

Love the colour of your Docs! I was a loyal Doc wearer last century, when they were made in the UK, they lasted forever. I found the quality really dropped when they started being made in Asia (I wore them out pretty quickly), and I haven't bought any or worn them for at least 20 years, which I found very sad. Although they come in much better colours these days. I wish you'd got that red blazer I thought it looked great, but I get why you didn't. I've read (and loved) Everyone in this room will someday be dead, but have a different orange Australian cover, I don't think I've ever seen that blue/green cover. Odd.

What a great haul!!! The green sweater was a pivotal piece and it IS different from the one you have! Love the shoes too!. I loved the fit of the red blazer on you but if you don't feel you'll wear it, it was good to pass. Enjoyed this!

I completely agree with not ordering a book from far away when you haven't read it and you're not sure you will like it, but... Why not borrow the book from the library first? That's why I love my libraries. No cost to see if you like it first!
@KateyOneMoreTime12 сағат бұрын
My library is great but doesn’t have a lot of the books I’m interested in, or has long wait times for books. I love using my library when I just want to browse, but it’s tricky when I’m after a particular book :(

They’re zionists and have been involved in live export trade. Both things I find morally repugnant and can’t support. There’s lots of info online but this is a brief summary. thecoburgmeddler.family.blog/2024/01/24/suk-revisited/

Blazer flaps = lapels
@Aionaaa_16 сағат бұрын
I don’t think she meant the lapels, I thought it was the kind of tail bits at the bottom that were flapping open

Yeah, I think she means the vents (?) at the bottom
