Let's go thrifting!! I'm excited to share some interesting items that I came across during a very enjoyable trip to a thrift store. I hope you enjoy.
Welcome to A Peek Inside. My name is Darlene and I have been happily married for over 25 years with two amazing children and two handsome pups. I've been doing KZbin since 2016 but decided to have a fresh start in 2024. My focus now is giving a little peek into my journey as a woman that was a military spouse, stay at home mom and homemaker that enjoyed those years but many of those things have changed with my husband's retirement and the children getting older and I am feeling a little lost. I am taking the time to focus on myself to make my health a priority so I can be around to enjoy the beautiful life and family that my husband and I created.
Thank you for helping build this community on my little channel and I hope you are excited to follow along as I give a little "PEEK" in this journey of mine.

I like the old tee shirts Walmart used to sell. Nice weight I would ever wear to work with slacks. They don’t carry those types anymore. I still have and wear them.

I love thrift stores but my friend the prices 🤷🏾‍♀️ are outrageous all over the world 🌎 I have in the past picked up sauce pans and amazing glass storage and casserole items 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I have found wonderful cast iron in thrift stores. One was a griddle that came back to life properly. I learned there’s a whole set of collectors out there. My husband had some when I met him. He’s got quite a few that are worth hundreds. I had no idea. We use the small pan most. I find them heavy. Camping tools to me.

Gosh I haven't been to our thrift store yet. I go in fall/winter then again on spring/summer! My daughter gets off in 2 weeks for summer! She's a 1st grade teacher! It's been our hello summer trip 😄! Found out today I will be getting a grandson in November! I'm over the moon! Ooo I can thrift baby clothes! Super excited now 😂😂

I always put the outside pieces of the puzzle in a bag when done. Then I bring it to church where fellow puzzlers donate their puzzles. So I can usually pick one up when to have the time. And my donations are there for others to pick up!

My favorite thrift store find was a wooden rolling pin. It was well loved and I knew whoever had owned it used it a lot. It was $1.99 and I still use it to this day ❤

Love the tips on the puzzles! And lightbulb moment about the number of pieces - we usually get 1000-1500 pieces and we’ve slowed down on doing them because they take us so long. I might sneak a couple 500 piece in and see if that sparks more joy!

I love thrifting but here in Missouri..prices have really gone up. I collect vintage lady head vases. Best find a $150.00 vase for $15.00!!

I love thrifting but haven’t gone in awhile, my VV stores near me their prices are crazy and the store is always messy and unorganized. Seeing your video today makes me want to go thrifting lol maybe I’ll go this weekend

The stores that I go to in the city are like that but my local one is actually very clean but not a lot of great finds.

I love to thrift! I also like to wear dresses in the summer too! They are so much cooler and so comfy! I also love to look at the pretty dishes! I don't need any but, it is fun to look! Thanks for sharing! Have a great day!

I love to check out thrift stores, mostly for dishes and kitchen items. I do find Value Village to be a bit expensive, so usually stick to the other local thrift stores. The fun is in finding that special treasure at a great price. I do have too much clutter in my home, so my new house rule is one item in, one out. And I am working on a slow decluttering of my home. You collect a lot of extra stuff in 70 years.

I too am in the process of changing my diet, my activity level, managing stress, and taking care of family. Thank you for the help that you may not even know that you've given!!!❤

I echo this sentiment! This is a time of life nobody ever spoke with me about. I’m in it, my friends are in it. There are so many things I’ve learned from Darlene and them to help me acknowledge, honour and work within the major shifts in our lives.

As far as luck with frying pans. I found a nice one in the lower stove drawer of a rental that the previous tenant had left behind. I was also given an old cast iron that had apparently been sitting in a shed for fifty years that had never been used. It had some minor rust easy to remove. Still using both of these. So not luck at thrift stores, but still lucky!

We love going to Value Village when we can. Thrifting is definitely hit or miss. Sometimes you can really find great things, and sometimes you find nothing. But Value Village definitely does have a good variety which is always great. I agree you need to know a price range or what's a good price for certain items, to know if it really is a good deal or not. My greatest find was several years back I went into Value Village and was looking at artwork or things to hang up, and I found this really cool framed photo. It's black and purple colours and it's a night sky, but when the light hits it certain ways, you see lightening in the sky. I have never seen anything like it and it was only like $7 which I thought was a great price. I love it in my bedroom. It's one thing I got that when I show it to people, they all ask me where I got it cause they want one.

I absolutely LOVE to thrift! It is always hit or miss, but that's part of the fun...wondering what treasure you might find! I was out just this morning, in fact at my local Goodwill, and found two summer dresses to wear around the house on hot days. As the weather warms up, there won't be as many dresses available, so now is the time to pick them up. I love the teal dress you found! For $6 it was bargain, knowing how much use you'll get out of it! We thrift all of our puzzles, too...the one you found with the rabbit family was so cute...that will be fun to put together. And I have the same problem with shirts...so many of them have shrunk in the dryer! I like mine to be long enough to skim over "problem areas" lol. Hope we'll go thrifting again with you soon!
