I should consider myself lucky, I find great choices in fabric (some high end fabrics)in my area. Book treasures are lovely to find.

I totally see a wide leg suit, pants and vest top with that plaid seersucker fabric, I think it would make your legs look so long and pretty and you have pretty shoulders so a vest shirt would be so pretty with that

You did very well! Getting closer to quilting...😄! The Dorothy Draper pink home dec fabric might make a nice duster, something with a little more weight than a thinner cotton or other fabric, to wear as an outer layer since you don't usually need heavy clothes in FL.

What an amazing fabric haul, some lovely garments are in your future. The first thing we do when we visit a new place is check out all the charity shops for books and fabric. Initially it was for quilt covers to use as toiles but you can get some little gems sometimes if your lucky. I really appreciate the trouble the book owners go to when they leave personal things or quotes in a book. It makes you imagine their life. The stories those books could tell.... Thank you for a lovely vlog. I am binge watching your videos at the minute. Take care from the North of England x

Wow! Free Spirit fabric in a beautiful tangerine color. Love that one in particular. What a great store. I seldom find yardage.

Lovely fabric haul, I am sure you will make something wonderful. I volunteer at a hospice thrift store. It is just amazing (and sad) to see what gets donated. Last week we had an entire quilter's collection donated. Dozens of books and patterns (never opened), kits (some never started) and fabric. Use your stash now 🥰

My girlfriend and I barely made it to the car before we burst out bawling after seeing Somewhere in Time. Mackinac Island was loved by my dad and I, but poor mom couldn’t handle the combination of fudge shops, horse manure, and diesel ferry smells. Good memories Jen!

LOL my husband would go for just the fudge shops alone -

What a wonderful haul of fabric treasures and no sheets... well maybe just one 😂. Those colours are stunning, all those pinks 💕. The books look fabulous but what makes it for me is the personal items in them from the person that had the book. Like you, I really appreciate the touch of history and adds to the wonder of who it was that had the book. Thanks for sharing your joy. ❤x❤

I can see those Hawaiian Prints used as either a yoke or as sleeves and contrasting trim on a blouse. Just because it's small doesn't mean it needs to be the dominant print. I collect lots of 1 yards or less from thrift stores stores.

Wow great find of fabrics. Even though I'm trying not to buy more fabric if i see fabric in a thrift store that i love, I buy it. I know i will use it. Last year i found about 4 metres of pink plaid seersucker fabric. This year i made myself some pjs. I'm hoping they will be coolnto wear. This past week, with the humidex, it feels like 104 f. I live in Southern Ontario Canada and that is very hot for here, even though our summers can be hot and humid. Mackinac Island is one of my favourite places. Ive visited thr island 3 times, but only stayed on the island once at beautiful Victorian inn. I'd love to stay at the Grand Hotel sometime.

You could make a quilted jacket with those quilting cottons. Using a sweatshirt rather than batting would not be as warm as batting.

I love the fabrics you thrifted . The décor fabric can be made into purses/ bags etc. Love the zippy cross body bags. Not sure if your daughter would like a pink nursery. My daughter just had her 4th girl and it was requested no pink. Pink shades are also different now. But maybe she likes retro. Time will tell.

Hey Jen! Man, you really scored on that seersucker fabric!!!! I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with an outfit if I had found that fabric. Nothing comes to mind other than an A-line summer dress with some fun pockets, which would be cute paired with white sneakers or sandals. When I think of seersucker, I think of outdoor summer outfit. Some of those smaller pieces would make nice quilted zip cosmetic bags or quilted notebook covers. Have fun dreaming and designing!!! 🥰

Try a Farm Rio style garment. A few years ago, from across the store, I saw a print I wanted for summer pants. I fell in love from across the store....it happens...then found out it was quilting cotton. Decided to make them anyway. Love them. After a few washes, they soften just the right amount. I have made those pants out of quilting cotton 9 times so far...another in progress. Those beautiful prints would be awesome as color blocked clothing
